steevc just finished a 7.06km run, that lasted for 44 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 483.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
After my long run on Sunday my legs are still recovering. I did more digging in the garden last night as I try to clear the grass from the strawberry bed. Still more to do there. So today was just a gentle jog.

It was nice out there. Just a slight chill in the air, but I soon warmed up. The kids are back at school now, but I was out before the rush and just saw a few of the little ones as I came back. I did a clockwise loop of Fairfield with no attempt at speed. I just wanted to keep moving, but did have to stop briefly to cross the roads.

We just got a blood pressure gadget as my other half was recommended to use one. Her readings are slightly high, but I would hope that improves soon. Mine was perfectly fine, as I would hope. I used to have slightly low blood pressure and could get dizzy if I stood up suddenly, but my heart is healthier these days from all the running.

I was reading the other day that it can be good to sit on the floor sometimes rather than slouching on the couch, so I am trying that. It also said you should be able to stand up from cross legged without using your hands or knees. That is not so easy and I am trying some exercises to improve on that. Fitness takes many forms and staying mobile is vital as you get older. I want to stay active for many more years.

Stay well and run free.

My dad has that exact machine
I use it whenever I am at home to check my pulse

My watch checks my pulse, but this does the pressure too. It's a cool gadget.

We have a blood pressure cuff at home too. We are both on meds for high blood pressure, so we check it periodically. It's a hereditary thing I think. I'm in better shape than I have been in a while and I still have to take the meds.

I'm fortunate that I don't need to take any meds. These conditions can be hereditary, but then we can do something to improve them. I'm in about the best shape I have ever been. I was never really overweight, but I did little exercise for many years.

I'm definitely overweight, but I am also in what I would consider some of the best shape of my life. Besides being randomly active when I was younger I didn't workout nearly every day like I do now.

Well I know you love your food, so there has to be some compromise. At least you are doing something to improve your health.

You'd actually probably be surprised how well I eat now compared to when I was younger. What you see on Hive is just some flare amidst the normally mundane and healthy stuff I eat.

Well I don't expect you to share the everyday food ;) We all need a treat once in a while.

Indeed! Even then I don't eat like I used to. When I go out with my brother in law I am always amazed at how much food he can put away and I think "I used to be like that".

Yay! Well done for a healthy heart. Definitely agree, that fitness takes many forms. I also read squatting like kids sit is also very healthy to get oxygen flowing through your vital organs and you breathing better. So want to be able to sit like that for longer. All types of fitness goals! Here's to achieving them all!

7km... that sent a rush down my body... been a while I did that.By the way that's incredible, there's no doubt doing this your body circulatory system would be better.

You should see what other runners do. This was just a jog.

I just nod and be like." you guys are on another level".

Running and boxing at th gym are the best ways for me to let off steam.

You are doing well, bud. I can't even remember the last time I had a walk out. I am still considering starting it by next month but I haven't gotten the motive to do so.

Getting motivated can be the hardest part. You just have to get out there and do it. Only you can make it happen.

I hope her blood pressure gets better, I know what a challenge it can be but being active makes a big difference. We’ve really noticed that around here as we tend to walk everywhere instead of driving. I did cheat the other night though, drove to Budgens it was freezing!

I ache this morning after kayaking along the canal in a different boat to my own and with some very lightweight paddles. It was a shorter boat and thus more effort to keep it booking straight and at a good pace. Lot of fun. Weather was decent and it was still light when we finished.

I hardly drive these days and am happy about that. My other half has been busy at work, but I hope she can get out for a run soon.

Have fun with the kayaking. I am just not that into being on the water.
