Morning Run: Thunderstruck
steevc just finished a 13.2km run, that lasted for 81 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 1019.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
I have pinched a title from AC/DC, but it is silly as you never get struck by thunder. It is lightning that does the striking. Anyway, I did hear some thunder out there today.
I could not think where to run today, so I went with my usual loop. There was some really heavy rain in the night, but it was not looking too bad. This was really a plod as I was not feeling like pushing too hard. I think parkrun yesterday drained me. If I had been doing the event in Letchworth today then I think I would have had a rest day before. Last year I was doing some challenge and running most days. That resulted in a pretty bad 5k for me.
There were a few damp patches and the slugs were out again this morning. I try not to tread on them. There were a few spots of rain at around half way, but it was not too bad. I took the long way around Stotfold where they have made some new footpaths. The road was closed for a while, so I assume other work was done. There is still some going on and the guys were working on a Sunday.
I took the Astwick road to pick up the long straight across the fields. It was somewhere around then that the rain started again and it got heavy. By the time I got back to Arlesey I was soaked, so I took the direct route home. The rain on my glasses makes it hard to see. I was nearly home when I could really hear the thunder, but I assume it was not too near.
I had to strip off and dry myself before I could have breakfast and then a shower. It has dried up now so we can get on with some work in the garden. We are having new paving and need to just mark it out.
I know some friends are doing the Great North Run today. I hope the weather is not too bad for them. You do not want it too hot, but then rain can make it harder. I know it was very mixed last year.

It seems like THEMARKYMARK is dealing with some personal drama and mental issues, which might be causing them to spam us and others with baby pics, GIFs, and questionable content he's been doing the same for years. Wow I also love doing a jog but I can't handle that level of stamina like it's no longer applicable for someone like me, however I do love jog since it cleanse my mind specially at night.
I prefer doing jog at night since few people run and I can run without feeling exhausted due to sun.
Well I'm pretty old, but I'll keep running. Do whatever works for you.
