Morning Run: Library booked
steevc just finished a 10.79km run, that lasted for 68 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 824.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
We enjoyed the Olympics last night. Team GB were not getting the golds, but they got a load more medals and broke some records. It is the last day of the games today. I think Paris did a great job.
Meanwhile in the UK there have been some anti-immigrant riots stirred up by nasty people, including Elon Musk. I just deleted my Twtr account, but then I thought it would go downhill as soon as he took over.
I was feeling quite tired yesterday. Doing parkrun takes it out of me. It looks like the times got adjusted a little, but then I suspected mine was wrong as it did not match what my watch recorded. It is no big deal and I suspect they just had not lines up the times with the finishing places as those are recorded separately.
Today I just wanted to get out there without worrying about speed. I did the run up to Langford as that is a nice route. It is fairly flat and away from the road on the way out. It was nice out there, but it will be warming up.
I kept running all the way, but it was hard work at times.
I took photos of some of the local community libraries that people have set up. You are free to donate books and take whatever you fancy. I love schemes that work totally independently of any financial motive. It shows the good in people. We have also seen that in those who cleared up after the riots and turned out to show that their communities do not tolerate racism. It is such an illogical tendency as we have no choice what bodies we are born in and that will not determine what kind of people we turn into.
Of course there is work to do in the garden today and I need to get out when it is not too hot. I did just have an online meeting with my band about our gig that is just two weeks away! Looking forward to that.
Run free!

Hi 👋 @steevc!!
Good going! That’s quite a run! 🏃
One of my goals for this week is to follow the nicely organized notes in the link at the bottom of your post to get in line with @strava2hive integration. Slick!!
Let’s see if I can show off my progress when I see you next month at @hivefest ! 😊
I was feeling worn out today.
The Strava integration works really well. You should go for it.
The behaviour of those &£&&@@ was shocking and disgusting. So pleased with the counter protests, the nation stood up and put (hopefully) an end to it for now.
Did you read the story about the man whose car got torched in Middlesbrough? A number of people clubbed together to raise £3000 so that he could buy a new car? That has exceeded 25k I believe!
No. I’m wrong! Check out this link

65k! Wow!
That's the stuff people need to hear about, not the arseholes.
That’s what I meant 😀

I stopped by after a long time. Hope you are doing well.
I'm good thanks. Hope it's all good with you. Of course Hive always has some drama, but it's mostly good. I'm looking forward to Hivefest.
Yeah, Slobberchops mentioned about the drama a few times. I hope that is mitigated. I am glad you are going to hive fest. Due to scheduling conflicts and my health issues, I won't be able to attend.
Well I hope we actually meet some day. Stay well.
will happen some day
More than 10km run in 68 minutes? At what speed you run?
Its like 9.52 km/h
Not bad
It's okay, but top runners can go over twice as fast :)
I see :)
