Description from Strava:
It has been a while since I did a lunchtime run from the office and I feel I would benefit from more runs, so I took my kit today. There are showers available and I really needed them today as it was quite warm.
I usually do a similar run to this in the opposite direction, but I fancied a change. I was aiming for Fairlands Valley Park, but did not quite make it that far. As you head east it is all uphill and is quite a climb. I went for that back streets that are all houses that look much alike. Stevenage is a new town and they were probably all built around the same time after WW2. A lot of the streets are curved and so it is easy to lose track of direction. I did not realise I had run in a loop, but I spotted the way back down the main road. That is back down the hill, but my legs were too tired to get up much speed.
The distance worked out about right as it meant I was away from my desk for about an hour by the time I had showered. I could have done with more time to cool down, but the clock is ticking.
I do not know who the people in the mural are, but I would guess they are locals. A few of the underpasses have been painted to brighten them up. Stevenage has cycle paths everywhere, but some are in need of maintenance.
The run was a good workout and I am happy enough with my pace.

You did well by getting back into your lunchtime runs. Exploring new routes can make runs more interesting. Keep up the good work, and happy running!
I need to start working some elevations back into my treadmill time, but after that stress test I have a bit of PTSD when it comes to inclines. 16% grade is no joke!
I really like how you mixed up your usual route for a change big bro. Those unexpected loops can be surprising, but they keep things fresh always. Great job on getting back out there dearest Steve. More power to Steve !BEER
