dannewton just finished a 11.92km run, that lasted for 78 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 899.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Just a quick post today.... rapidly running out of time!

I finished work at 4:10 and as I was working from home today, I was quickly able to get changed and head out for a run before darkness fell. Usually for the run on Monday I would head out along the bypass.

There was a change of plan today as I needed to go to the post office. Firstly to post some Gels (thin coloured plastic squares used in flash photography) to my partner up in Carlise. The second reason was to cash a cheque from HRMC for a tax refund, as I apparently paid too much last year...

it was only 12 quid, so nothing to get excited about, but every little helps eh?!

The other reason was that when I ran out along the bypass as part of my easy recovery run yesterday I had to skirt round parts where the path had flooded in several places. Even though its 24 hours later, I expected the water to still be there so instead of faffing around, I just ran 2 easy loops around the village. 2 lots of 5.5km plus a detour to the post office took me to 11.92 km. If I had realised when I got to the end I would have done a little loop down a side street just to get the full km but never mind!

It was also good to finally dig out my new shoes I bought a few weeks ago, and take them out for their first 'spin'.

so soft.... like running on Marshmallows!

The other pair of shoes have just clicked over 600km so it's time to start winding them down and rotating into the newer pair. And to celebrate wearing my new bright shiny shoes, I thought I'd make an effort to co-ordinate my outfit for once, and match up with the florescent yellow running top (and the hat also had bits of yellow too).

pretty sure I was so bright outside that I practically glowed!

Right, so the item was posted, cheque was cashed, run has been completed, tea eaten, emails checked and answered... time for a quick shower and then its time to get the ironing done for some shirts for the office this week

...and then perhaps I can find time to put my feet up for 5 minutes before heading to bed...?

The colours on a lot of running kit are a bit garish, but at this time of year you need to be visible. It is a bit wet out there. Have fun.

Definitely worth the effort to be seen, especially as clocks go back this weekend which means most of my evening runs will be in the dark

I recommend upgrading to marshmallow shoes... like running on little clouds haha!

There is such a thing as 'too soft though', but I like reasonable amount of cushioning as most of my runs are on pavement

You had a quite busy day including the run too and I'm surprised that you ran for over a hour
That's awesome!

It is good that you have made it regular. When a person walks daily, it is good for his health and 12 km is a long journey.
