Sports & Foods ~ A Weekend to Remember
After a while, I got to enjoy a weekend at its fullest in a completely different way. Life has been going up and down like a roller coaster ride, I have no time to chill, not even a moment like before. Balancing work-life and personal life is kinda tough, no matter what, we gotta do that and I am stuck in between that. In our personal life, we still find ways to spend some quality time but in the work life, especially when you are doing a 9-5 job then things are very likely to get tiresome unless you are lucky to have a good environment. Well, I would say I was lucky to get a friendly environment and this weekend was from them for some refreshment and to have a better bonding with the colleges.
We tried to enjoy more than to capture. In fact, we were so busy with our activities that we didn't get any scope to capture like that, that's what it should be. I didn't even think of clicking with a view that I would post them, just a few that gave me the opportunity to compile and keep them as memories.
Metroplex Sporting
Cricket and Football
We had some bikes, so few of us got the bike rides, and for the rest of the people we called Uber to reach our desired destination, Metropolex, an indoor sporting complex. In Dhaka, it's very rare to get playgrounds to play, not like our childhood places where we used to have horizons to play and run. Well, we got the chance to hop in here, a little far from the city, took around an hour or a little more to reach our destination.
Here it is, inside the Metroplex, in the indoor ground. Time for cricket, it's been more than seven to ten years since I played cricket last time. Yeah, I have stopped playing even before passing my school. We played cricket for an hour and then started football for another hour after taking a short break. The same goes for this as well.
You know what, while playing football I realized how weak I was physically. Not just me, most of us were breathing like we were suffocating due to the lack of oxygen, breathing rapidly, heart beating faster, and the body was giving up on and on. It's because, after a long time the body was doing so much physical activity.
Time for Swimming
Metroplex also has swimming pools, which are great for diving in after exhausting games. So we took another short break and jumped in the pool. Every one of us had an amazing time in the pool. I don't know how to swim, lol, so I got some training there to learn. Learned a little bit but I know I need some more practice to swim properly. Not something to learn within an hour.
Food Hunt ~ Neela Market
After closing the chapter with the Metroplex, we were set for a new destination, time for outdoor activity, part of having food now.
We started to ride again, it was during the sunset when we started for our next destination. Our primary target was the Neela market, which is known for its festive look, it has plenty of food stalls to offer various delicious foods which are not available within Dhaka city. Yeah, it is out of Dhaka city, took another twenty minutes to reach there from the Metroplex.
In Neela market, we would see tons of such restaurants, decorated with lights, open from the surroundings, and women as well as the men are cooking to give you authentic tastes. More importantly, they cook in muddy stoves with wood, no gas here so the taste is completely different from the foods we cook in our houses or have in flashy restaurants.
Here we go, duck curry with romali roti. These soft rotis were perfect to have with the spicy hot duck curry. Trust me, when we got the food in front of us, we forgot anything else and we were eating non-stop. Usually, these foods aren't available to us in the city, so we ate as much as we could to satisfy our belly as well as our heart. Well, I am tempted to go there once again, the winter is here, and in this cold weather, it would be a mouthwatering treat to the tastebuds and my belly. Soon,
Got this buddy beneath our table, as I mentioned it was open by the surroundings so they were roaming around, they didn't disturb anyone in any way, they were just looking for some food perhaps.
So yeah, that's it for now, it was a great weekend after a loooooong time. Tempting to get more and more like this. Till then, I am gonna stay content with this one.
See you in the next time.
Have a great day,
Take Care!
