Missing My Boy Jordan. It's Been Over a Year.

Some of you that follow me, might know that my son Jordan has moved to El Salvador to continue his soccer dream.

It was August 15, 2022 when I hugged him last time. It was a hard time for all of us. We were supposed to move to El Salvador by March, and be with Jordan, but things didn't turn like we have planned.

Jordan has been doing so awesome trying to get everything done, like getting his DUI (El Salvadorian ID), his drver license etc, and of course trying to get to the soccer team.

Jordan has been having a very hard time, trying to get to the team that he planned to get into, since when he first got there, the season has already started, so he couldn't play any games, only train with the team.

When the season started, he got into the Reserve Ahuachapan team, but it was pretty bad season for the whole team, who disliked their coach and then the season was canceled because of the terrible incident that happened in San Salvador stadium, during the game, where I believe 15 people lost their lives and many were injured.

This was the last season for Jordan to play in Reserve team, because of his age.

This season, Jordan did tryouts to FC Santa Ana team, (new league which was created 2 years ago, where you get paid for playing) where 120 other guys were also trying out, but there were only 10 spots. A week before the tryouts, Jordan got injured pretty bad, so we thought, he would not be able to do it. This was very tough and dissapointing for Jordan. After the first day of tryouts, Jordan could barely walk. He had to take some kind of shots injected to his leg, three different times, because of the pain, but somehow he recovered.

The tryouts were supposed to be for like a week or two, but it lasted for over 2 months and finally Jordan got good news from the coach to go to the office and sign up for the team.
He finally made it!😀

We were so happy, but not for long, since Jordan was unable to sign the contract because of the regulations. The teams can only have 2 international spots, which were already taken. You are only allowed 2 spots for players who were born outside of Santa Ana, which were also taken, and because Jordan's El Salvadorian birth certificate states he is from San Salvador, he couldn't sign up. The rule is that if you were not born in El Salvador and you get El Salvadorian birth certificate, it automatically states that you were born in San Salvador.

Now this was even more dissapointing. Finally making it to the team, but couldn't sign the contract because he was not born in Santa Ana.😔😥
Another closed door.

But when one door closes, another door has to open. In the same day when Jordan couldn't sign the contract, FC Ahuachapan (same league)team had one spot left, so Jordan has been training with Ahuachapan team for the last month during the pre season. So now it's been 3 months of hard work and of course stress for Jordan and the thing is, that he is in the same situation as in FC Santa Ana team, but the coach really wants Jordan on his team and he said that he will try everything to get him in. So at least we have some hope again, but Jordan needs some good energy and some prayers sent his way, so I would greatly appreciate if you could send some good vibes and energy and prayers towards him.

August was a super hard time for me, because I would never thought that I would not see my boy for a year. My heart felt so sad and it still feels sad.

We talk every single day, sometimes even twice a day, so we are blessed that at least we can see and talk to each other this way, but it still hurts.

These last 3 pictures are the only pictures taken with my phone. All Jordans pictures are mostly shot by the profesional photographers, but that is all I can share with you guys because I can't take the pictures of my boy or watch him play.

We still are grateful and still feel blessed, but it just hurts watching your child going through hard times and dissapointments, especially when he is far away and alone.
