Going up with the spot and showing my first special privy mark maple leaf: The 2017 Cougar.

  What a week!! Silver spot went up! At the beginning of last week, I bought a nice deal for a 1oz Silver for 43.83 CAD which was the spot price on that day. and that changed a lot until Friday and stabilized a bit this week around 47 CAD, sometimes it goes a bit up or a bit down. Right now it is around 46.80 CAD. So in one week of difference, I could sell the same piece for the spot and still get what I paid back + 3 CAD. Gold also jumped a bit.

  For me, there is a bit of a problem, I am a slow buyer so if I will buy now the prices are up! Common 1oz pieces are being sold for 48, 49 bucks and before it was around 45-47. That sucks because I use regular FIAT to pay in addition the 1 gram of gold which I bought for 133 CAD now it is being sold between 140 and 142 CAD. Crazy right?

  Let's show a beauty today. I had bought some Maple Leaf silver coins in the past, since they are easy and cheap to get around here for obvious reasons. However, there are rare mintages that come with small marks on the coin, called privys. Usually, it comes with a small maple leaf, but these low-mintage coins come with other symbols. In this case, I bought one with a cougar privy. The regular mintage of the maple leaf is usually by millions. This 2017 Cougar privy Maple leaf has only 50,000 coins minted. It is a big reduction!

  Besides the cougar privy, there aren't big changes in the layout, but the condition is proof-like and amazing. You still can see the Queen Elizabeth II in the obverse. I paid 50 CAD, at the time around 7 CAD above the spot.It is a way of getting more value to your maple leaf collection. By the way, I have already pre-bought the 2025 Maple Leaf. But I am still looking for other deals with these special privy versions.
