Spain vs. England Final Faceoff Analysis! Why Women's Football is Totally Worth Your Time

You may be wondering, why I'm writing an analysis of the women's world Cup finals between England and Spain. It all began when I asked a friend whether he was watching the match and he told me '' I can never watch women's football ''. This prompted me into writing this interesting analysis of how the match went to show women's football is actually worth watching.
A lot of us probably missed out on the match, either because we were occupied at the moment or maybe we're not fans of womens' football. But guess what? I actually enjoyed watching every bit of the match!
I knew I was familiar with the face of the female artiste performing to commence the World Cup final. Then when she sang '' Dance Monkey '' I then realised that it was Tones and I. Her performance was actually very good, and I really enjoyed the way she performed the '' Dance Monkey '' song, as that's the only song I have listened to that she has sung.
Fast forward to around 8 pm – that's when the real action began. The match started and I recall those initial moments when England was totally in control. They were dominating the field, putting the pressure on Spain. Almost like a déjà vu from previous matches, they came very very close to scoring, only to have the ball hit the crossbar.
But then Spain decided to step in and dominate the match. They seized the moment, took charge of the game, and before you knew it – bam! They scored in the first half. My dad almost burst my ear when he shouted '' GOAL''!! as he was supporting Spain to win. The tide turned, and now the pressure was on England to even the score.
As the second half kicked off, England decided to bring in Lauren James who had finished serving her 2 match ban. She actually did make an impact to the game. England's attacking power increased and they had more chances.
I honestly felt there was no need of bringing her on because I thought she would spoil their rhythm. She tried her best though but to no avail.
An English player unintentionally committed a handball although it looked a bit intentional to me. A penalty was then given. Spain had a golden chance to secure a two-goal lead. But they missed the penalty. I already had a feeling that the girl taking it for them would because she was looking very nervous.
In the end, Spain emerged victorious with a 1-0 scoreline. It might have been just one goal, but trust me, the intensity of those 90 minutes made it feel very interesting.
The final whistle blew and Spanish players were overjoyed. You could see the players rejoicing.
I was a bit sad for England though because they really tried their best and this is the first time they're reaching finals. Another reason why I was sad was because England's coach- Sarina Weigman has carried a team to finals before(Netherlands) and also lost; England is therefore the second team she's carrying to final which also lost.
England fans around the world have been in tears ever since Spain won. My best player in the Spanish team was Salma Celeste Paralluelo Ayingono because she really carried her team.
Better luck for England next time and also for my home country Nigeria who was eliminated by England.
And there you have it. It was not just a football match, but a rollercoaster of emotions, a showcase of skill, and a reminder that women's football brings its own unique taste to the world of football.
