BREAKING NEWS: Škoda started to test new Fabia Rally2 car with Kopecky behind the wheel (VIDEO)

Škoda Motorsport develops various versions of their Fabia model as a rally car for the last 18 years from the time when they were competing in the World Rally Championship with Škoda Fabia WRC, with Armin Schwarz, Toni Gardemeister and Didier Auriol behind the steering wheels of their cars. They never had some bigger results with the WRC version of their car

But all the other versions of the car were super successful, first with their Super 2000 car when their drivers won all the championship all around the worls, and then later with R5 and Rally2 cars.

They were present as a works team in the WRC2 championship and also in the European Rally Championship for years but the last few seasons they operate through their satellite teams.

This season their main team is Toksport from Germany and they are present in WRC with sometimes four or five cars. Their leading driver is Andreas Mikkelsen who scored WRC2 win but the fastest Škoda of the weekend was Alexey Lukyanuk's who drove for a Latvian team called Sports Racing Technologies. They are present in the world of rallying with another Russian Nikolay Gryazin. I guess that connection helped Luky's drive at Estonia

Their top works driver for almost 15 years Jan Kopecky started to test the new version of Škoda Fabia Rally2 and I found a video from the test. Car is till not homologated, that means they are still developing and testing the vehicle.
