Three photo Thursday

It's a brave creature that comes between me and that first morning tea. Gandalf doesn't give a damn. He cannot get close enough.

No, it's not mist, it's smoke. Smelly smoke. Don't know who was responsible and it did dissipate with no damage done. It did make for pretty pictures, though. Speaking of that view, it's slowly disappearing: that building went up last year. It's taller than we were led to believe it would be. And the open space to the left of it will soon be filled with one house and then another. We are done with building and the noise of building but we simply have to suck it up. It comes with noise and risk. I hate saying this, but when that was built, expensive fencing materials were stolen from behind our locked gate. Turns out that it was the workers and it lost The Husband a customer and income. So. We're not looking forward to the next few months. Could be as long as a year.

Then this

First fruit. Ever. Of more to come. From our own lemon tree.

Expect much lemon - and marmalade - spam. Lemons are arriving at my house by the bag and box full. From gardens and farms. I will be working overtime in my other office aka my happy place aka my kitchen, today and Sunday, and...

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • Join Hive using this link and then join us in the Silver Bloggers' community by clicking on the logo.

  • lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.

I have a small lemon tree in a pot. We planted it about 3 or 4 years ago, and it has never given us a single lemon. I look forward to your lemon spam because that means a good harvest, hehe.
Happy weekend! 😄

Your tree will eventually bear. If you feed it (Epsom salts) and have patience.

Bring on the lemons and marmalade.
Progress is building higher than supposed to be buildings and taking the view away.
That happened to me in Spain, I was not happy!

If that's progress, they can keep it. We moved here for wide open spaces, quiet and no neigbours...I feel the grinch wanting out.

That happened to me in Spain, I was not happy!

I feel for you. The thing here, is that semigration has struck us. Folk running from the cities rather than coming to the for what it has. They bring paranoia and ponciness with them. I had a near altercation with a noob at the pub last evening. She could redeem herself at the market this morning. We'll see.

hehe I hope you gave her what for and I hope that she did redeem herself.
You are so correct about this "They bring paranoia and ponciness with them"
They can go away back where they came from is the polite version of what I have to say on the matter.

Talking of the market, I hope that you had another cracking Saturday!

Nope didn't come near! Hahaha! It seems you and I agree...

Not a bad market considering it's mid-month and low season. Thank you for asking 🤗

The market is so unpredictable. Month end and long weekends and summer are usually good. Then we have unexpected good days. For no reason. It throws us every time. Even after nearly 10 years!

Ag no Fiona, just awful about the theft!!! It's gotten worse ever since the horrid lockdowns with so many people losing their jobs!
I do hope hubby lands an even better project🤞
As for that early morning cuppa, I get very grumpy if I'm disturbed while having my morning coffee!

That was a while ago, Lizelle. In some ways the thieves did him a favour. The client was difficult and unreasonable. Away with the client. Away with a bit of stress. Better all round. And that's the short version 🤣

I missed that it was for that old project, definitely a blessing in the end! We were alarmed when a complex went up across the valley, a couple of years ago but now that the gardens are more established, it actually doesn't look bad.
Happy Saturday night to you xxx
