2. Eric Cantona (Manchester United)
Leeds United and Manchester United are the fiercest of rivals so a player moving between the two clubs was always going to be one of the most shocking Premier League transfer news.Eric Cantona made the move from Elland Road to Old Trafford for £1.2million in what remains one of the most controversial transfers in Premier League history.
He went on to help United win four Premier League titles and two FA Cups, becoming one of the club’s best players in history.

1. Sol Campbell (Arsenal)
Sol Campbell is the most shocking Premier League transfer news of all time in what we're outrageously controversial circumstances. A Tottenham youth product, Campbell rose through the ranks quickly and became a key player and club captain.
After openly stating he'd stay at White Hart Lane in 2001 as his contract was expiring, Campbell shocked the footballing world when he declined a contract that would've made him the highest-ever paid player for the Spurs.
He then made a stunning free transfer move to fierce North London rivals Arsenal. Campbell went on to win two Premier League titles and three FA Cups and was a key player in the 2003-04 "The Invincibles" Arsenal team. He goes down as the most shocking Premier league transfer news we've ever witnessed.

Ah yes, my Spurs friends hated that move. One of my worst was seeing Van Persie go to United and win them a league 😢 😭
