Kobe Bryant – The Moment You Give Up is the Moment You Let Someone Else Win
Kobe Bryant was a truly remarkable human. His game was an inspiration to an entire generation. Kobe was able to step up when the Lakers needed him most and more importantly, during games that mattered most.
The most inspiring attribute the late great had was his dedication to the game of basketball. His perseverance and desire to win has made him one of the most revered athletes of all-time and his championship mentality has become legendary.
In 2002, Kobe and the Lakers trailed a Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash led Dallas Mavericks by 30 points. Behind by 27-points in the 4th-quarter and against insurmountable odds, Kobe exploded for 21 points, grabbed the lead with 8.8 seconds and completed the biggest comeback in Lakers history.
In Game 4 of the 2006 playoffs, Kobe scored TWO buzzer beaters to beat the Steve Nash led Phoenix Suns. Not sure what Kobe had against Nash ..
Down by two with 8 seconds left, the Suns turned over possession from an inbound pass and Kobe scored the layup to force OT. In the extra period, Kobe snatched the ball off of a tip-off with 6 seconds remaining. He drove the ball down court, pulled up from the right side near the elbow and finished it off with a swish to take the game.
These are just a few examples of Kobe’s perseverance and drive taking his game to the next level. Is there any words to describe it? There actually is! The Mamba Mentality. Kobe summed it’s meaning all up as “constantly trying to be the best version of yourself.”
RIP Black Mamba. You’re a continuing inspiration to many.
You are right.
I hope you got some value from my post
yes
Kobe really was an inspiration to everyone regardless if you care about sports or not. The mental dedication he had to persevere at all odds was astounding. If this doesn't make you want to do better than I don't know what else could.
