World cup kicks off: Qatar Vs Ecuador

The FIFA world cups literally kicks off today. Its been a long 4yrs since France won the last in 2018. Its become a tradition that the "home nation" starts off the tournament, and that means Qatar gets us underway with an underwhelming start againanother underdog - Ecuador.

Qatar have to hope that home advantage pays off for them, but I very much doubt it. It's going to be very difficult for them to get out of this group - in fact, I think they will finish bottom. Ecuador are quite a defensive-minded team so there won't be many goals in this opening game, but they should still find a way of winning it.

Dont bet your house on this one.... I cant see home advantage being enough for Qatar, so i see a solid display by Ecuador resulting in a 0 - 1 win.
