Sports Talk Social TWC || Robin Van Persie || My Favorite Athlete
Hello Fellow sports lovers,
It is yet another wonderful contest from @sportstalksocial and in this round we are talking about our favorite athlete.
I have always been a great admirer of football since I was a kid, there are this couple of plays I always looked up to as my role models. We have the likes of Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba and of course the all time greatest Cristiano Ronaldo.
I always considered Van Persie as my favorite amongst them all and I am here today to talk to you about him.
Robin Van Persie was born in the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands on the 6th of August 1983.
During his teen age, Van Persie never focused of school and his parents was never worried about it because they knew he had a passion for football.
Van Persie grew up supporting Arsenal (the Gunners), Van Persie started playing as a left winger at the age of 16 were he was later on promoted to the senior team. He signed his professional contract with Feyenoord which was a 3 and a half deal where he featured in the league, the local league and also in the champions league where he scored 5 goals in a single match. During he time at Feyenoord, he made an appearances of 73 in all competition, scored 21 goals and assisted 10, He also won the UEFA super cup at Feyenoord.
He later on signed for Arsenal in the year 2004. Van Persie was later on converted into a Striker by Arsene Wenger. During Van Persie days at Arsenal, He set a record of scoring the most goals in the first 2 months of a calendar year and also the fist player to score in 7 successive premier league away games. Robin Van Persie later on became the 3rd highest goal scorer for Arsenal after over taking Dennis Bergkamp.
Robin Van Persie spent about 8 seasons at Arsenal and made a total appearances of about 194, scored a total goals of 132 and was part of the Arsenal squad that won the English Super Cup (community Shield) in 2004 and 2005. He also won the English FA cup at Arsenal in the Year 2005.
Robin Van Persie later on signed for Arsenal bitter rivals Manchester United were he won the Premier League title in his first year at the club in the year 2013 and also won the 2014 English Super cup at Manchester United. Van Persie made a total appearance 105 and scored about 58 goals.
Robin Van Persie later on signed for Fenerbahçe in the year 2015 on a 3 year deal at the age of 31 making an appearance of 87 and scoring a total goals of 36. Robin van Persie later on made a move back to his Boyhood club Feyenoord were he retired from professional football.
Robin Van Persie is known for his wonderful goal scoring techniques, one of my favorite goals is the 2014 world cup header goal against Spain which later on won the pukas goal of the year.
He never really cared about how the goal was scored, which is why I consider him to be my all time favorite.
Robin Van Persie is currently the youth coach of the Feyenoord football club.

Thanks for sharing and joining in this contest.
He was indeed a great one, it was sad seeing him go
A great striker! I really enjoyed him playing at Arsenal :)
Yeah. He was one of the best strikers in the world
Van Persie is an absolute gun! One of the greatest strikers in the Premier League era. Keen to understand though whether Arsenal fans see him as a Judas for going to Old Trafford?
Well I don’t blame him though, I wanted a premier league trophy so he left for the team he saw can help him win it and he did win it at his first season
That's a fair call. Regardless, absolute top drawer striker
That’s right
It so nice when parents understand the dreams of their children and stand by them to make it a success, Van persie was Lucy there, not all parents would permit that. He is a good footballer and his success in football is also outstanding, more success bro.
He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of football
Truly, you are right.
You just reminded me of this great striker and his golden days at Old Trafford.
He will forever be the legend of the team
