Euro 2020 Predictions.

Don't you just love having football back? It is always boring without football and on the back of an unpredictable season with twists and turns all across the globe, having rivals come together under one national team is good to watch and that's the spirit of sportsmanship. It feels so good to have football back.

The timing is perfect and even though some of the players called for the national teams are not having the needed break but they won't mind because there is this joy that comes with playing for your country.

Euro 2020 is here and I am excited. Due to the pandemic, it should have been in 2020 and that's why despite being in 2021, it is still tagged 2020. It would be a mixed reaction for some players and that's because some players were in form before the initial date was cancelled and now they are either injured or out of form and they couldn't be called up and a notable example being Van De Beek who was injured. Some players got injured and wouldn't have made the initial list if they allowed it to go through last year like Memphis Depay and now, he is injury-free and leading the charge.

I expect upsets to exist in this Euro 2020 as with any football match which is why we love it so much. There are notable teams that would make a strong statement in this tournament and everyone has been tipping France to go all the way again and Portugal being the holder of the last edition, they would expect Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo to be the difference-maker for their Portugal side as well.

You cannot rule out teams like Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, England, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, France and Germany. Spain hasn't been at their best recently and Portugal can be counted in by the virtue of how resilient they were in winning the trophy the last time. They were not spectacular but they got the job done.

These are my predictions and as we all know, a lot can change in football but I am sticking with these predictions.

Group A:
Italy
Turkey
Switzerland
Wales

I am tipping Italy and Switzerland to go through. I so much want to pick Wales for their ability to play together but I am going with Switzerland.

Group B:
Belgium
Denmark
Russia
Finland

I am tipping Belgium and Russia to go through. Also, it's Finland's first appearance and much shouldn't be expected of them and I know Denmark would be another tough team but I can only choose two.

Group C:
North Macedonia
Netherlands
Ukraine
Austria

I am tipping Netherlands and Ukraine to go through even though I have an eye over Austria haha.

Group D:
England
Scotland
Croatia
Czech Republic

I am tipping both England and Croatia to go through.

Group E:
Spain
Sweden
Poland
Slovakia

I am tipping both Spain and Poland to go through.

Group F:
Portugal
France
Germany
Hungary

This is the supposed group of death and it would be mouth-watering encounters. I am tipping both France and Germany to go through.

What are your predictions and who do you think will win it this year? I am going with Belgium, France or Germany.

Thank you for your time.
