Liverpool maintains their Anfield record against the Cityzens.

A game between Liverpool and Manchester City is always going to be filled with so much intensity, splendor, and drama. That's what the history of this fixture has shown, especially between Klopp and Pep. Today's game wasn't any different. It feels even more phenomenal when you consider the position of both sides in this 3-horse title race.

Manchester City looked really brilliant in the first 10 minutes of the game. They did what they do best and Liverpool managed to keep the scoreline goalless. However, the next 10 minutes was Liverpool's moment of brilliance. They bossed the game and even got a goal which was ruled out for offside.

Manchester City stepped back into the game from the 20th minute and finally broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute. De Bruyne delivered a corner kick while Stones capitalized on a sneaky opportunity to nail the win. It's not often you see Liverpool concede such a careless goal from a set piece. It took them longer than a while to recover from that.

The rest of the first half was quite balanced. Each team pressed well, but the scoreline remained the same.

Second Half...

This is when all hell was let loose in Anfield. It started with a mistimed backpass to Ederson. Nunez dashed towards it and intercepted the ball while Ederson swept him off the floor in a very wild tackle. A penalty was given for that. Macca stepped up, scored the penalty, and leveled the scoreline for Liverpool. Ederson on the other hand couldn't continue with the game. He probably got an injury and was subbed off.

Liverpool started bossing the game again. They got a whole lot of chances and could have easily won the game with 3 goals clear. However, Luis Diaz decided to be wasteful in front of goal. He got served very hot and sumptuous passes by Salah, Nunez, Szobo, and Macca. However, Diaz couldn't finish any of the chances he was served.

I'm not giving Diaz any flowers today because I'm still gutted about the chances he bottled. However, he did a good job of entertaining folks with his dribbling. He rattled Rodri and Walker. He even sat them down a few times. If only he was that good with his finishes.

Man City on the other hand were unlucky with the number of woodworks they hit in this game. The woodwork from Foden could have easily been the match-winner for City. But, it didn't happen. They will surely be gutted about that.

The standout performers for me in this game are Endo, Macca, and Virgil. These guys are phenomenal.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

It was indeed a great game for us even though I knew winning would be quite challenging judging by what we have on the list of injured players.

I don't know what the remaining features of this season would look like but we won't stop trying...

Yeah, Bro. Stepping into this game, I was hoping we get something out of the game. However, the boys fought really well and it's obvious we could have claimed the full 3 points if Diaz wasn't so wasteful in front of goal.

As it stands now, we are favourites to win this league, because city and arsenal would still meet. The only thing I see standing in our way is Arsenal's goal difference, it's massive.

Yeah. Arsenal has a really good game difference and they are banging in more. At the moment, I just hope we never fumble for the rest of the season.

I was so muchly entertained at this junction. The shout and the cheers we we oozed out when he did the first magic was enough for me....

Diaz gave us joy with his dribbling. It would have been better if he got a goal too.

Yeah.
Also, if Liverpool lost, Diaz would have been roasted on X 🤣

Even without the lost, I still roasted Diaz. But, when I remember how he dragged Man City through the mud with his dribbles, I just sit back and relax small. Haha.

This match looked like a tough one. It's always sad to see a player lose the chance of scoring goals and winning the match. It's been years since I watched the Premiere League, maybe it's because Chelsea has not been doing well.
