Liverpool bow out of FA Cup in a 7 goal thriller.
The FA Cup Quarter Final fixture that was played this weekend had a lot of dramatic results and each of them had a lot of intensity. As you would expect, the fixture between Manchester United and Liverpool is the one that got all my attention. As liverpool takes steps into this competition, it gives us hope of winning an additional silverware this season.
Liverpool's line was still missing a lot of first team players, but the moment I saw Salah, Nunez, Robertson and Szobo finally starting for Liverpool since October 2023, I felt really positive about our chances of getting something out of this game. We are already at a point in the competition where there must be a winner in each game. So, even if we play a Draw, the game will be dragged to a penalty shootout.
First Half Of The Game;
The first half of the game started with a big surprise from Manchester United. I came 10 minutes late to the game and to my greatest surprise, Liverpool were already a goal down when I came.
Liverpool pressed really hard and stepped back into the game following a banger that was scored by Endo. The goal had a lot of controversy around it and was subsequently ruled out for Offside. Macca stepped up afterwards to level the scoreline for liverpool in the 44th minute. This time around, no one is ruling that out for an Offside.
Just when we were waiting for the first half to see it's end, Salah got back on track to score and put Liverpool ahead just before HT. The two goals we scored in quick succession made it possible for us to end that first half on a good note.
Second Half Of The Game;
The second half of the game was pretty much a Liverpool half. We controlled the game, kept our backline tight and even got an opportunity to rest Salah and Szobo. I believe our Coach did that sub because the thought everything was already going in our favor. However, Manchester United were not having any of that.
Man U levelled the scoreline in the 87th minute, thanks to a sumptuous finish by Anthony. With a goal scored at that time in the game, it was obvious everything will be dragged into an extra time. We even thought we would be reaching the point of penalty shootout.
Extra-Time;
The extra time of this game is as dramatic as it gets. It was truly a game of two halves. Liverpool managed to get themselves ahead in the 14th minute of the first half of Extra-Time. The excitement from Liverpudlians went far and wide, with just 15 minutes to go.
The second half of the extra time was a different ball game for Liverpool. We started that half sluggishly while creating and bottling a bunch of chances. Man United capitalized on those and served us a very spicy punished. They scored twice in that half to level the scoreline with Liverpool and go one step ahead.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

These are the kinds of dramatic, memorable games that make being a fan worthwhile, regardless of outcome. I'm sure you and all the Reds will quickly turn your focus to the next challenge and push to end the season strong in the remaining competitions.
That's very true. It wasn't the result we expected, but we can't call it quits or hang our head in shame. There is still so much to play for this season
I think I will try watching these football matches one day to see what makes people lit up about them 😀😀😀. I hope I would be able to understand anything other than who won and lost.
Hahah... You had me in stitches with this comment 😂. Try and watch football oooo. You will really enjoy watching it. Lol.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this.
I gave it to Liverpool going into the game. The odd favoured them but football is a game of surprise. Though I didn't watch the game, I believe that Man U was a lucky side I'm that encounter.

Man U were really lucky to win the game. However, Liverpool also shot themselves in the leg. Haha
