The World Cup Comes To An End As Argentina Is Crowned World Champions Of The 2022 World Cup In Qatar
What a night it was in Qatar, the Fifa World Cup came to an astonishing end with Argentina taking home the world cup trophy. Last night's match will forever go down as one of the best world cup finals in the history of the world cup and football for years to come.
Argentina vs France match had everything in it, fear, excitement, unbelievable moments, tears, happiness, and champions in the whole 120 minutes of the match. Argentina started strong in the first half and scored two goals which gave them the advantage, the France coach had to quickly make changes and remove some players in the 30th minute of the first half.
Dembele and Giroud were subbed off in the 30th minute of the first half, I understand why Dembele was subbed off, he gave a penalty that lead to the first goal and was poor in attack, he was trying to dribble his way but Argentina's defense stood their drown and blocked him from creating any scoring opportunity.
Giroud's substitution shocked me because he has been top-notch throughout the tournament, but he failed to capitalize with the ball when given the chance and most times fell too easily. Argentina on the other hand made France look like an average team, France failed to get one shot on target in the 45 minutes of the first half, and I began to wonder if that was the same France team that reach the finals, Mbappe was nowhere to be found he was completely blocked off in the first half but Argentina defense couldn't keep him silent forever.
Argentina still dominated France at the beginning of the second half but France's team had already started to make their mark on the field and before I knew it Argentina considered a penalty for France. Mbappe was brilliant as he sent the ball into the goalposts and then the energy from nowhere entered the France team before the 60 seconds could complete Mbappe equalized the scoreline to 2-2.
It was unbelievable, I couldn't believe what I saw with my eyes in a matter of seconds Mbappe equaled the scoreline and turned the match around, I was so tensed afraid that Argentina might lose the match, and before I knew it I was on my knees begging God for Argentina to win the match.
Both teams tried to score before the 90th minute but failed to do so, the same thing happened in the 15th minute of the first half of extra time but things changed in the second half of extra time. The beast in Messi came out during extra time, the man was like I have had it with this France team and started taking long-range shots and it did not take him five minutes before Messi scored his second and third goal for Argentina.
I remembered how I screamed and thought it was over, then Argentina again conceded another penalty, and again Mbappe got the best of the keeper and scored his third goal of the night and became the first player to score a hat trick in the final of a Fifa World Cup match.
Emiliano Martinez from Argentina made an incredible save in the final minute of extra time, that save will go down as one of the most important saves in the world cup. It was crazy, both teams were not ready to go down without a fight and they went into a penalty.
Argentina won by 4-2 on a penalty with Emiliano Martinez saving one and making Tchouameni from France lose the third penalty. There is no doubt that Emiliano Martinez is on his way to winning the best goalkeeper in the Ballon d'Or ceremony next year.
Now to the main man of the day Lionel Messi, Messi has now won the trophy of his dream, you have to see the way he kissed the world cup trophy when he went to receive the best player of the tournament which he now has won twice in his career. I am so happy for Messi and he completely deserves the trophy. Messi has completed football and he has won everything in football.
Messi has won an Olympic gold medal, Copa America, Fanalissima, Fifa Club World Cup, and now his newest addition The Fifa World Cup, what more does he have to prove for the other fanbase to realize that he is the GOAT, the debate between Messi and Ronaldo is over the man has been to two world cup finals and still performing in the highest competition of the world at 35, Messi is The King of football and that is a fact.
Fun Fact: Messi has now beaten Ronaldo in the champions league final, Neymar in the Copa America final, and Mbappe in the world cup final. Messi has also become the first player to score in every match of the world cup knockout round of the tournament, the Argentinean has become the first player with the most world cup appearances.
What a player Messi is, he has conquered football and is still hungry for more, Messi said he won't be retiring from the national team as he wants to continue playing as a champion. I expect nothing more from Messi, he has completed football and has stamped his name in the history of football for years to come. Congratulations to Argentina and Messi once again for winning the world cup. So guys that will be all for now, thanks for sticking with me during the world cup and I appreciate all your support, see you soon and have a great week.
Missed the first half as I thought it started at 7pm local time here. Still a great game and Martinez was definitely my man of the match as he saved Argentina in the final minutes of extra time. France needed Benzema though as you can only imagine him and Mbappe together what damage they can do.
France deserves credit there is not doubt, they went into the tournament without their key players and were able to make the finals, and it is sad Benzema did not make it and just confirmed that he will not be playing for his country anymore did not expect him to take this decision but he has already made his choice and have a solid reason for it. Thanks once again for dropping by.
Benzema was definitely a big miss for France, but even having Benzema in the team wouldn't have solved Franc's problems in the final at least. There are 2 reasons. 1, Giroud stepping in place for Benzema has been absolutely outstanding for France and saying Benzema would have been better would be harsh on Giroud.
But second and most importantly, France's biggest problem in the final was not that they were not doing too much in the attacking half but the fact they were getting slaughtered in the midfield by Enzo, Mac Allister and de Paul. And it came down to Mbappe not willing to come down and defend and help out the midfield to win back balls and Dembele trying but doing a bad job at it.
The question here to be asked is whether having benzema would change Mbappe's attitude about coming down and helping the midfield or would it improve Dembele's defending. The answer is no.
The big issue with France from the start of this tournament was this, and up until the final they managed to make up for it, but whenever the opposition had quality in the midfield, France struggled. We saw it against England, and surprisingly we saw it against Morocco too.
One of the craziest, if not the craziest world cup ever.
It world cup had everything and I am glad I did not miss a thing.

The final is one of a kind. I was also surprised when Giroud was subbed off but seems the coach made the right decision. Messi not from this planet 🙌🏿
Messi is not from this planet he is just amazing and I am glad to be in his era.
He his such a blessing to soccer.
The thing about the GOAT debate, and I am saying this as someone who cared about it for a few years, is that it was just people chasing smoke for over 12 years. First, it was the number of Ballon d'Or, which Messi won, then the number of golden boots since it's up to a vote, Messi won, then playing without Iniesta and Xavi, Messi won, then international trophies, Messi, then NOT THAT trophy, so Messi won the World Cup and the same people now saying all of that doesn't matter. It's just a pointless debate that wasted so many years of people's lives.
The thing with Ronaldo's fan base is that any trophy Messi has more than Ronaldo they begin to discredit the award or trophy and I am sure if Messi surpasses Ronaldo's champions league trophy they will come out and discredit the trophy.
I must admit that when the game started and Argentina was all over France I thought it’d be a boring final cos as far as I’m concerned a finals should never be ones sided but end to end.
I’m surprised Dembele even got to still start most of the games if not all cos I wasn’t impressed with his performances and it’s not surprise Deschamps took him off.
At the end of the day Argentina did deserve their victory but they must give credit to Emi Martinez and possibly half the prize money for that last minute save.😂
