The results are in!
I almost forgot it was happening, but around 8:30 PM Friday night I happened to glance at my phone and I noticed that the draft was taking place for my fantasy football team.
These past couple of years have not been the best for me. At least not as far as my fantasy football team goes. If you have been following me, you know that I have a love/hate relationship with fantasy football.
That is I love to play it until I am in last place and then I hate it. In return I feel it basically hates me otherwise I might have a bit more luck each season.
I have tried everything I can think of to change my fortunes. I have tried making a lot of moves with my roster, I have tried riding out my initial draft picks. I have even tried adjusting my pre-draft rankings to give me a leg up on my competition. None of them have worked.
This year I decided to take a hands off approach to the pre draft process.
We have four more teams in the league this year and that should mean that the talent is spread across a larger number of teams that it has been in the past.
I'm not really sure I am happy with the results of my team, but it is done now and all I can do from here is build.
I think we all know that the quarterback can make or break a team. I've had some good ones over the years and some bad ones too. I can't say I was super excited to see Tom Brady as my quarterback this year. While many consider him the GOAT, I honestly don't feel he is consistent enough to be a franchise quarterback for me.
Sure he can throw, but he doesn't really run and he relies a lot on his teams running game which equals pretty much no points for me in that position.
I will likely give him the benefit of the doubt, but many games below 10 points and I am sure there are plenty of people in my league who would be more than happy to trade for him.
While I recognize some of the other names on the rest of my team, it will be trial and error to know if they are going to stick around longer than a couple of weeks. I typically like picking up rookies and hoping that they end up having a break out season.
Given my past luck though, I am not sure that is the greatest idea.
Do you play fantasy football? What do you think my draft score is? Personally, I am going to put it in the C or B range, but time will tell I guess!
Best of luck with your team. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Good luck with your team. I've actually never done a fantasy team (probably the last dude on earth to not partake, lol) but it looks fun.
It can be when you are winning. Heartbreaking when you are losing!
