Wicked Boys win promotion to League of Champions

It finally happened, after 80 seasons of toiling in the wilderness, Wicked Boys have finally qualified for the League of Champions. This has been a long time coming but we're finally here and it is such a great feeling.

Right now, I'm 100% buzzing at the thought of participating in the league of champions. It is a milestone achievement and it is a testament to the work that the manager, @belemo put into this team.

Right now, everybody associated with the club is absolutely buzzing and we're just savouring the moment. However, we know how much of a challenge it is going to be slugging it out in a higher league.

Right now, we're in a celebratory mood right now, so we won't be getting into our plans for the coming season. However, the board will like to state categorically that they will continue to support the manager and ensure we continuously improve the squad.

Speaking to the media after the final victory of the season, the manager had this to say about the board's interest in supporting the team

So whether it is renewing contracts or delving into the market, there will be some action in the background. We know that this is a time to celebrate, but we have to keep the challenge in mind.

The boys are excited right now and I tell you what, we're having a bit more than a pint tonight. When the booze settles, we'll ba getting straight back into it because we have to be at our best.

Qualifying for the League of Champions has been a lifelong dream for Wicked Boys and while it was achieved in such a smooth performance by the team, we will not take it for granted.

The boys don't seem fazed by the coming challenge though. Most of them have been playing like champions all seasons, and this qualification is just the crowning of their effort.

Speaking to the club's top goal scorer, John Doe, after the match, he offered some insight into the mood in the squad;

Look we just achieved something great but that's just the beginning for us. We're a group of players that will always go for the top spot and everyone will have one eye on the challenge while we celebrate.

We're making progress, one day at a time and will continue to grow. We celebrate today and subsequently, we'll get back to work.
