I know about POrtugual, but didn't know that Russia leagues had good games! I'll check them out

Not the kind of games many would live to check out. The football scene seems boring after the Olympics ended. Glad this wait will be over when the English premier League kick off in five days time. Can't wait to see more interactive leagues in action.

Football happens to be the sports that the whole football seem to follow the most. I also happens to be my favorite. Used to also play football back when I was a lot younger. This days I don't often find enough time for it. My passion for playing football seems to have dwindled a lot. Hopefully I get have it back with time and more opportunity to do so again.

Seems to be pretty quiet today here for sports discussion. After plenty of international events (football Eurocup, cycling tour de France, Olympics...), it is now time for national leagues of all sports. I know most people mostly follow football here, but any other sports y'all are interested in?

Yes, American Football and Hockey (my favorite)

I used to like going to Hockey matches live at the Stadium, go Red Wings! But for some reason, I just can't spend the time to watch full games on TV, too many commercial breaks maybe.
Anything interesting going on with the NFL preseason? If I'm not mistaken, the real season should start in just a few weeks.

Yea, nothing beats the experience of being there at the rink!

The NFL preseason is hardly ever interesting in my opinion lol
I watch a few games here and there, but I'd rather wait for the "real thing"...

Cowboys lost the hall of fame game to the Steelers, so no big news there LOL

I remember getting very cheap tickets for one of the Lions preseason game years ago. It was indeed not that great, even live. When I went back for a real game, it was so much better, even though the Lions sucked as often.
Maybe I'll try following American football a little bit this year. One more sport to watch on TV on weekends!

Haha yea the Lions have seen better days!

Cool! Post about it here if you do! I don't think anyone else other than me really discusses American Football on this thread so it would be nice to have someone to talk to hehe

After so many years in the US, I still watch just a few games here and there, so not sure it will really change. But I'll read your posts about American football.

Yeah, we're still a long way from the new NBA season, and even European leagues don't start very soon from what I remember.

Indeed a really quiet day with little or no football matches today. Apart from football, basketball and tennis seems to catch my interest. Especially tennis. Not any interesting tournament ongoing

It's not my please that the GOAT of football lionel Messi is leaving my favourites club. Barcelona will really miss the Greatest of all time football. And he finally state: he will be coming back in the future.

Did he decided where he's going yet?

PSG is big favorite to recruit him and one of the only few clubs rich enough to pay his yearly salary. According to several sources, they provided him with a formal offer for a 2 year contract. I don't see anywhere that he already accepted it yet, but we should know soon as the French Ligue 1 season already started this week end.

Yea, that looks like the clearest path for him.
I don't follow soccer as much these days so I wasn't sure, but I guess it makes sense

PSG has recruited him and he will be going for medical check up tonight or tomorrow and other necessary stuff he needed to do. According to latest source.

PSG shall try to build their team for the next champions league which I lobe them for that .looking forward for the next champions league winner. I wish them good luck and their new players as well

Guess they already have the team they have been dreaming off with the Lionel Messi deal has good has done. Also expectant of the new league and UEFA Champions League has the latter has been what have eluded since 2016 when the new owners but the French outfit. I believe they Just secured the final piece but acquisition of the Argentina talisman.

That was fast. However expected them land to him. Nice one from the french giant in scooping the talented Argentine. I believe all will be concluded before the week comes to an end. This has the best to move of summer transfer window. Now Paris Saint Germain just officially just became the favorite to win the UEFA Champions league with Lionel Messi arrival. Can only imagine how fearful other teams will be facing the forwards of Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Unstoppable trident they must be. Can't wait to see the new Paris Saint Germain side

Actually this information was later denied. Although I still think he will end up in Paris Saint Germain, the transfer is still not complete. Apparently there are still a few disagreements on the contract, but it should be taken care of soon, most likely Tuesday. It's funny how rumors spread: Messi's private plane flew to Ibiza where one of PSG managers currently is, but it seems neither Messi or his father (who represents him) were on board that plane!

Life is full of unexpected surprises so who knows. But I do think he will come back to Barcelona in the future.

Yeah but I don't think he will coming back as player. most likely is some other capacity though. The club will always remain very precious to him after spending two decades.

Sad moment it must be for Barcelona faithfuls with the departure of their most prolific attacker of all time. He will surely be missed. His departure will seriously hurt the team for the meanwhile despite what we saw in the friendly yesterday against Juventus with many saying the club will perform the way they used to.

You don't lose such a caliber of player and expect everything to be go the same way. Wish badly find a way to cope and endure this times. He may be coming to the Catalan club sometime in the future but another capacity and I doubt he will ever kick the ball for the Spanish club ever again.

Decent prediction. I expect atleast two out of the three options to play out through. This side are known for recording quite an amount of goals so the goal options should play out easily with both side atleast register a goal

Its official that Messi has signed a two year deal with the French giant PSG. This is the very first time the lad will be playing league football outside Spanish la liga.

Actually, the French media always the most informed about PSG still says it is not complete yet. It will happen almost for sure, but there will still be more negotiations tomorrow Tuesday to fix a few things in the contract.

Who knows the latest of Haaland and Bayern in Germany? That las had been in the eye of Manchester United, wouldn't know why they dropped the pursuits.
