THE PROVERBIAL GREEN MOTHERLOAD!!
Hey everyone, what can I tell you other than blessings only blessings. WOW, we have had incredible rain for 5 days running at this point. I went out and decided I wanted a full vegetable dinner and that is exactly what I did!
Ok so technically Watermelons are not vegetables, in-fact most things featured here are not botanically classified as vegetables other than the Onions!
Here we have my first mini Watermelon ever and look at those MAGIC chilli's in the backdrop. I have all sorts of species Chilli's (peppers) from Carolina Reapers, To Cayene, Birds-eye, Ghost Peppers, Chinese 5 Colour and more, to be honest I am not sure which these are but big and beautiful they certainly are!
First up, we have a mini heirloom multicoloured Watermelon this fruit grew incredibly fast and with all this rain, just boosted the growing process! I currently have 2 growing but on closer inspection see a few more coming out.
This Watermelon is a 'mini me' they ripen small, so at this point ripe and ready to pick and eat albeit the size.
In the backdrop we have my multi-coloured Carrots and White as well as Black Brinjals, I cannot wait to see what those taste like!
For you folks wondering how I get my vegetables to be so prolific and healthy in such arid looking conditions, my secret is simply, Sing to your plants, LOL just kidding, well maybe not? I plant each seedling in a rich mixture of compost as well as fertilize weekly with my miracle Fertilizer, for those of you who do not know what that is, my magic mix of Urine, Epsom salts and Molasses, Yes Really, check out my 'Secret' Fertilizer Mix Blog here: https://steemit.com/nature/@craigcryptoking/urine-fertilizer-re-visited-the-results-are-astounding
Tahitian Butternut, this is the second harvest from this incredibly delicious 'badboy' I way prefer tahitian butternuts than traditional yellow/cream skin coloured ones. These literally grow to double the size in the same amount of time and taste just incredible they really do, if you have alot of space in your garden I highly recommend trying these out. The only drawback however for these and most squashes is they are very space intensive as well as consume loads of water but have a high, regular yield!
How gorgeous are these flowers? These normally only bloom in the early morning and just for a few hours, sadly by night time are already dead, however the miracle that is nature been so bright and colourful, bright colours render the perfect 'beacon' to attract pollinators to do their job before they die off and render fruit!
I planted one Tahitian butternut around 5 metres away from the other in opposite directions, they finally merged and are growing in opposite directions, rendering shade for each other which works nicely to keep them cooler. These plants do like full sun as much as possible but does not like excessive heat so this was another experiment I tried for optimal growth rates and it seems to be working!
I took this pic to give you a general idea of the size of this Butternut. I am around 6.4 tall giving me rather large hands and as you can see comparatively this proverbial 'bad boy' is a monster indeed. In the backdrop all my other amazing vegetables with my multi-coloured Giant Glass Corn (Mielies) in the background!
Solar Panels just the way nature intended, you can see how this plant is as productive as it is, full huge surface area for maximum Sun-light to be absorbed to allow for optimal photosynthesis! We have two plants in this picture looking like one. I planted them on opposite sides 5 metres apart, they have now grown together and merged, both prolifically producing amazing food!
Here we have everything I harvested for the day. I planted these onions in the beginning of Winter around 7 Months ago and began harvesting them a month ago. These need to be harvested before the tops die off otherwise risking them rotting in the ground. We have at-least another months supply of onions in the ground waiting to be harvested and eaten, sheer bliss. Our second harvest of our Giant Multi-coloured Glass Corn (Mielies) Sweet, nutritious, delicious!
Truly not much beats eating pesticide free, organic, heirloom food out of the garden, so healthy and a massive cost saving!
Nature the Incredible!
I trust you have an incredible week!
Cheer$;)
hahaha your "vegetables" do indeed look gorgeous! and apparently, that singing thing... is a fact - that and playing them classical music ;)
LOL Like literally apparently that works?? I do sing to them sometimes though :P Cheer$;)
hahaha so "they" say.... ;) But who knows who "they" are anyway LOL!
That is so true and so funny.. silly 'them' :P

Hey bruv really appreciate this thanks a ton. Cheer$;)
The more we eat, the more we piss, and the more they grow, and then the more we eat! Hehehehe, keep on pissing and growing, bud!!
Hahaah I think you are confusing eat with drink :P True brother true that. You really aught to try it get say a 5 litre container, piss in it about 700 ml, add about three table spoons mollasses same amount epsom salts and fill to the brim with water, if your plants don't double in size in a week or two I will be shocked. PS: Urine is sterile, try it :) Cheer$;)
My growing season here is only about 4 months long. Nice and hot, but not very long! And it's not for another 6 months! (June July Aug Sept).
Hell in a pinch you can drink urine, it's not dirty unless you're unhealthy. Not a good long term solution for dehydration though... haha. But yes, very safe in plant water, a natural organic source of nitrogen.
