SuperFruits of the World - Part #2
Last week i bought to you the more basic well known superfruits of the world , well this week i am going to show you some more exotic superfruits of the world and why must we eat our portions of superfruits everyday you may say because...because we all know that most fruits are packed with antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals, and other nutrients that can help you live longer, look better, and even prevent disease.
Let's start of the Rambutan fruit it's name is derived from the Malay word rambut, meaning 'hair' when the skin is peeled away a a firm, white, translucent flesh appears similar to a Lychee and just as tasty and why is Rambutans good for because they are rich in vitamin C , a nutrient that helps your body absorb dietary iron more easily.
Mangosteen, also known as the purple Mangosteen, is a tropical evergreen tree with edible fruit native to Southeast Asia a very flavorful white flesh fruit that's eaten in sections. Rich in Powerful Antioxidants , Supports Blood Sugar Control and Helps Maintain Healthy Skin.
The Guava originally from Central America and the West Indies, Guava is now grown in many tropical countries and favored especially for its fragrant, exotic taste eaten fresh like a apple or you can turn it into a delicious juice and it's amazingly rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber.
The Rose-Apple much like shape of a pear, the Rose-Apple has a shiny skin that is either pink or green in color. Extremely refreshing crispy and crunchy taste. Like a apple it is rich in dietary fiber and helps regulating blood sugar and helps in weight management.
The Longan a lesser known sibling of the Lychee and Rambutan, the Longan has a sweet, delicate flavor and grows in Northern Thailand in the Chang Mai area. Longan fruit contains rich amount of Vitamin C that is equal to 80% of daily requirement. It also contains minerals like iron, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium i absolutely love this little fruit easy to eat and very tasty.
Ahhhh...we all know how good Coconuts are for us they are just about the most versatile fruit there is the juice is more hydrating than water, the soft flesh goes great in desserts, and the nut can be used to make adorable souvenirs. Coconuts just have to many benefits to list but here are some they improve heart health, weight loss, and digestion.
Now here is one that i never even knew about till i came to Asia they call it the Salacca fruit and my god this is the most tasting fruit i have ever had it's like a nut cocktail the Cashew nut and Brazil nut are very prominent in this fruit.
The Salacca also known as the Snake fruit is not only a great fruit to include in your food for its flavor, but also for its nutrient content, which includes high levels of dietary fiber, protein, sugars, potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorous, vitamin C, and vitamin A, as well as various antioxidants and active ingredients. It originates from the regions of Java and Sumatra in Indonesia.
The Papaya another great exotic fruit available all year round with some many health benefits also here are only some it lowers cholesterol , helps with weight loss and good for your eyes. Papaya is rich in fiber, Vitamin C and antioxidants which prevent cholesterol build up in your arteries.
Jackfruit another good source of vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber, and other important vitamins and minerals and taste superb like passionfruit , pineapple and mango all mixed in one , well that's my description and i love this fruit a little chilled it's just more crunchy after been chilled a little.
This what it looks like when the Jackfruit is cut up.
And it is known that the Jackfruit seeds have 6 incredible benefits if eaten the Thai's boil them up in water and then add a few spices and i have eaten them what a incredible taste. There benefits are...Fights Wrinkles , Prevents Anaemia , Helps in Curing Mental Stress and Skin Diseases , Prevents Indigestion , Gives you Healthy Hair and Good Eyesight and Builds Muscles now that is amazing and incredible my source of fruit.
And as always i love shopping at my local open air Bangkok markets where the fruits are fresh daily and the vendors are always welcoming you with a smile.
This is Part #2 and again these are only some that i have shown you today that are pronounced as superfruits i will bring you more next week in Part #3 in the mean time get down to your local fruit stall buy some superfruits and enjoy the benefits.

Thank you @jacuzzi glad i was of some help never be frighten to try some you will like maybe others you won't but they won't kill you...lol 🤭
Wonderful fruits that I can pick up somewhere around my neighborhood except for the salacca 😁 pondoh is a region in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. By the way... do you know the yellow fruit next to the mangosteen😉 Im planning to create a post about it later... it's the season now!
Thank you @cicisaja i am sure a lot of these fruits you are familiar with and that you said that's near the mangosteen is also a yummy fruit with a sweet and sour taste it's called the Santol Fruit (In Thai called the Krathon ) Thanks for dropping in and enjoy your fruits 🙂
Sentul or seutui aka kecapi here in Indonesia, seldom find the sweet one though. We used to preserve it in sugar syrup to reduce the sour taste.. but some people just enjoy the tangy of it happily😂 they eat the inner skin with salt and chili.
I really wonder whether the siamese has any type of traditional fruit salad like "rujak" in Indonesia?
Fresh and healthy
