How to land a knockout punch
If you want to know how to land a knockout punch, and you think knowing where to hit will do the job, you need to think again, my friend.
You can hit the attacker's chin, back of the head, solar plexus and other vulnerable parts of the body. The thing is, when you attack, the person is not going to sit there and do nothing. He can defend that and attack you back. He can put his hands up and stand in a fighting stance. Now you will find it hard to get in and attack.
So what are you going to do?
Fighting is not like pressing a button. You press something and it will work. I have made a post recently analyzing a fighting scene in combat perspective - Kiss of the Dragon - Fight Analysis In Combat Perspective. The attacker can be a good fight. And you will find it challenging to fight and defend yourself. So only knowing where to hit and land a knockout punch is not enough.
Sometimes what usually works, that might not work against some attackers. So you have to make your move differently. You can also read my post about How To Confuse The Attacker In A Fight - Self Defense. The most important thing is, can you make it work for you?
Maybe you sit somewhere and the attacker is about to attack you. You punch his groin because that's close to you and an easy target from your position. So there is no one answer to this question.

There's an answer to this question. The shots that do the most damage are those that you don't see coming. You can throw 1-2 into the persons guard and get them to cover up so they don't see a hook or something to follow. or even a jab then a right hook around your guard, if you dont see that hook coming..
Well said. If you make him off guard, you can hit him with the punch. So it is not the first punch, the punch that you throw making him off guard will do the job. Thank you @agr8buzz for your comment.
