What Should You Consider Fighting Against A Taller Attacker
You have to fight with a taller guy. This is not fair. Who has arranged that fight anyway?
Well, if you are going to participate in a fighting competition, your opponent will usually match to your size, weight, and strength. But you are on the street, a tall guy comes and starts making trouble. This is not going to be a fair fight. And when you fight for self defense, don't expect it would be a fair fight.
Of course, there are certain things you should consider before fighting against a taller guy. A taller guy can punch you and hit you, but if you punch him from the same distance, your punch will not touch his body. No matter how many punches you do if that does not touch the attacker body, what's the point of punching?
So you have to consider that he can attack from the distance, but you cannot attack him from there. If you go for attacking him, you have to get closer. Guess what? He will not stand there and let you punch him. He can attack you or punch you. Suddenly, you will discover yourself far away from the attacker.
When you discover yourself far away from the attacker, that's good. Get up and run if you can. The point is, you do not need to get into a fight unless there is the only way to get out of there.
If you have to attack the taller guy and there is no way getting out of there without this, you can attack his legs, knee, and groin. It is always suggested to do headbutt to the taller attacker's chest. Well, I'm not a big fan of headbutt. If you like to do headbutt, you can do that.
When the tall attacker moves forward to attack you, you can move to the side and counter-attack. If you can move to the back, that's better. You can attack him easily. Try to fight a way to get out of there. It is not that you will keep fighting forever. When you get a chance, just get out of there.
So what do you suggest we should consider fighting with a taller attacker? Please feel free to comment below. If you like martial arts and want to learn more about self defense, you can check out some of my recent posts.
