Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 17
Welcome back to Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 17. I did not think of making this series of posts when I started writing the first post. While I was writing, I had many things to say about this. So I made the second part. I got your support. That's inspiring. So here we are part 17.
In case you have not read the last series of posts, I highly recommend reading that. Here's the link.
Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 16
Today we are going to look at some situations of that video and talk about it. Let's watch the video first.
From 2:50 to 3:03 Minutes
In this situation, you see a guy holds a knife in front of a girl. The knife is very close. What we usually overlook in the situation is the psychological aspects. If the attacker's intention to stab her, he can do that. You see, he is asking for something.
The attacker is very alert, that means if you do something to attack him that you see in the video, there is a high chance he is going to stab you. You can talk to the attacker like okay, I'm giving you what you want, here it is, take it.
When you talk to the attacker, his mind might shift from attacking you to getting what he wants. At the time of getting the key, phone, or money, he might get distracted, or somehow, if you can make him distracted, that's the chance to make your move to defend yourself.
You can grab his hand that holding the knife first and then attack him. In this video, the girl does the same thing to defend herself. Wait a minute. When the attacker is on the ground, she releases his hand that holds the knife thinking he might not attack her again. Please do not do that. Take the knife away from him to make sure he can attack you back with the knife.
From 3:03 to 3:16 Minutes
A girl is walking on the street. A guy comes from behind, grabs his bag, and tries to run. She just turns and punches him. Then she gets her bag back.
Well, here I'm sharing my opinion. You can have a different opinion about this. And it is absolutely okay. Please feel free to share that in the comment section. So the attacker intends to steal the bag. When you see or feel someone is grabbing and pulling your bag, first turn and grab your bag. Then go for the counter-attack.
If you punch him and he runs away, taking your bag, you just lose your bag. You might be able to hit him, but the attacker gets away with your bag. One more thing, when you punch, the attacker will not stand there so that you can hit him. He will just run. So first grab your bag and then make your move to attack him
