Fighting Multiple Opponents - Self Defense 1
When you participate in a fighting competition, you fight with one opponent. There are referees and rules in the fight. That's sports. Your target is to win and be the champion.
If you learn martial art, you usually do sparring with one partner. He or she attacks you, you defend and attack. Your opponent is in front of you and you can see his moves clearly. But in real life, don't think there will be one attacker. Sometimes you have to fight with multiple attackers to defend yourself. And there are no rules or referees.
If you are not used to fighting with multiple opponents, you will surely face some problems. Maybe after reading this post, you will change your mind and start sparring with multiple training partners to learn how to face a situation like this.
Honestly speaking, when you fight with one opponent, it is easy to fight compared to multiple opponents. Whatever moves your opponent makes, you can see that. If your opponent steps side or backward, you can move and your opponent is in front of you. It would be difficult for him to move away from your eye sight.
When you fight multiple opponents, the picture is different. Suddenly, you discover yourself you are in the center point of the opponents, and they are standing around you. You can see them who are in front of you and to your side. But you cannot see them who are standing behind you.
When you attack your opponents who stand in front of you, you see someone hits you from the behind. It is difficult to deal with a situation like this. So what can you do?
When you attack or counter-attack, move away from the position where you are standing and try to keep them in front of you. If they are in front of you, that's better. You can see everything what they are up to. Now it would be easier to fight and defend yourself.
I shared a video where you can see fighting with multiple opponents. They are good martial artists. I respect them. When I share my opinions, sometimes that can be different from what you see in the video. When you fight for self defense, don't show off. It's not a demonstration or some sort of competition.
When it comes to self defense, the ultimate goal is to defend yourself and go back home alive. Don't think you have to win in a fight. You are a good fight, that's great. But when you fight to survive, if you are able to get out of there alive, that's all that matters. If you get an opportunity to run and get out of there, then run.
In a street fight, you do not like to do something fancy, that looks cool. This is not a movie. This is real life. When you do roundhouse kick, get back your kick as soon as you kick. Don't kick and hold your leg over there. If the opponent catches your leg, that's a problem. Don't let the opponents catch your leg. Try to stand on your feet. If you fall down on the ground, stand up quickly. You do not want to end up on the ground, right?
You can have different opinions and I respect that. Please feel free to express your thoughts in the comment section. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post.
Stay safe. Always be happy!
