Fancy Moves - Is It Useful For Self Defense
We talk about martial arts and different moves of self defense. Today we are going to talk about fancy moves. You usually see different moves in movies that look pretty cool. Rolling, spinning and then kick. In order to throw a person or make him fall on the ground, we see grabbing, move here and there, then throwing.
It looks amazing. As you see in moves, even before fight, they show different fancy move to their opponents. No doubt, it is good for entertainment. If you are good at it, you can make those fancy moves and hit someone in a fight. So is it useful for self defense in real life?
You think you will do this and do that for self defense. But when you are in that situation, you realize that what really works. You practice some fancy moves when you learn martial arts. It is fun to practice them. When you practice them with your partner, it works.
The fact is, when you have to fight for self defense, you want to end this as soon as you can. You do not want to show some fancy moves and later beat up by the attackers. All you want is to use something is direct, easy to remember and effective.
When you are in a situation like this, you might get nervous or excited, you will not remember those fancy complicated moves. Even if you remember those moves, you do not want to use them because this is real and if you get hurt, that's for real. Your partner does not want to hurt you while sparring, but the attackers will hurt you the way they can.
The most important thing is, you have to put your effort and time to learn and practice martial art. When you get used to using the techniques without thinking about it, you are good to go. You can use it for self defense in an intense situation.
You can practice different fancy moves for fun. Or, if you have a demonstration, you can practice and show your moves over there. When we watch movies, the purpose is different. We want to see something that entertains us. Producers make movies focusing on that.
Some moves in movies seem powerful, but that might not be that powerful. Maybe they do something only for the camera. It looks good on camera. Sometimes you see unnecessary moves in a fight. That’s okay for the movie. If you think you will use that in real life, you had better think twice.
So what you see on the movies, that might not be effective when you fight for self defense. In real life self defense, you have to use that can save your life. This is my opinions. Please feel free to express your thoughts in the comment section.

@rezoanulvibes hello dear friend.
Being able to demonstrate elegant movements before a fight, is a method of intimidation, you are exposing that you are well trained and have a lot of skill, if it is an improvised insurance, I will think twice before fighting.
Thank you very much for sharing these valuable materials every day.
I wish you a great day
Students spend a lot of time learning certain moves that are good for demonstration or the competition. But you will not find that useful for self defense. You might be in a situation where you cannot even raise your leg, let alone kick. If you are practical and trained like that, you know what to do in that situation.
Thank you so much @jlufer for reading and giving your opinions.
Have a great day!
