Don’t Do Monkey Dance In A Street Fight
In one of my recent posts, I talked about some self defense moves in a street fight. The situation and what you want to do, that determines your action. In a situation like that, you should know what to do, how to defend and counter-attack as well as what alternatives you have. If you have not read the post yet, I highly recommend to read that.
Self Defense Moves In A Street Fight
When people say something bad to others and have an argument, they get angry and frustrated. You often see they come very close to each other and start shouting. Then you see pushing one another and start punching. In a situation like this, sometimes we do silly things out of anger or emotion that we should not do. If you like to dance, that's cool. But please don't do monkey dance in a street fight.
When you come close to the person and talking loudly, he can attack you any time. You are close to him, so you will find it difficult to defend the strike. Or, the guy can grab and lock your head, now you are in a big problem. You have to get rid of headlock first before doing anything.
Have you even seen people grabbing each other's collar of the shirt, pulling and shouting?
When someone grabs the collar of your shirt, you grab his collar and do the same thing. If someone grabs your collar of the shirt, that means his one hand is already engaged. You have two free hands. Instead of grabbing his collar, you can grab his hand that grabs your collar, turn and lock his hand. Now you can teach him a good lesson.
Fist of all, do not get in any fight on the street. Try your best to avoid that. Keep calm and talk to the person so that it does not end up in a fight. If he grabs your collar of the shirt or grabs your hand, you can lock him and put pressure. Hope he will not advance to do something silly next time if he is smart enough.
If you get close to the guy and keep shouting like him, you are vulnerable because anything could happen in that range. So keep the distance. And do not make any obvious move that shows you want to fight or you are ready to fight. At the same time, be ready to defend and counter-attack in case the guy attacks you.
