Defend Yourself Before Falling On The Ground
If there is mat on the ground or you are in a field with nice green grass and the attacker makes you fall on your ground, you might not get hurt that bad. But you are always on the mat or in the field. When you are on the street, shopping mall, office or any other place like this, do you know what will happen if you fall down on the ground?
You will get hurt, and you might get hurt pretty bad depends on how you fall. In your martial arts training, maybe you learn how to fall and rise from the ground. Basically, you learn how to fall on the ground if someone pushes you or how to fall on the ground to the side. And you also learn how to get up quickly.
If you learn this lesson, you can deal with the situation if you fall down on the ground. This is a good practice. You learn martial arts, just don't think no one can hit you or you will not fall on the ground. If you have this training, that's great.
When the attacker attacks and tries to make you fall on the ground, you can stop him right there. So he will not be able to do that what you wanted to do. Let's watch this video.
This is a basic lesson. When the attacker comes to grab your legs, you can make the distance between legs and ground yourself properly. Now it would be difficult for the attacker to move you. You can grab the attacker's arms and push you away.
You can also attack him. As soon as he comes closer to grab your legs, make the distance between your legs, grab his arms and attack him with another hand. You can do an elbow strike, chop, hammer fist and so on. Then you can move him in another direction.
When you do this technique, make sure you keep your balance. If you lose your body balance, you cannot make this technique work for you. If you observe the situation, that helps you make your move in order to defend yourself.
