Reflections: I think I am exactly where I need to be in life right now. Every one of my experiences, good and bad, are responsible for having led me to this place… this place I call home in my heart.

It was the perfect night for a stroll among the monuments, paying homage to some of America's greatest political thinkers.

When you finally come into full bloom, you will live with your heart wide open, the fragrance of love and joy, sharing and caring drifting all the way through to the next garden.

Today is a perfect day for a perfect day! I've said this before, but, when it is full and unavoidably true, it requires to be said again and again.

In a sea of people, it is so hard to stand out. Break through and be free. Hidden in one view, they become visible in another.

Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. So a walk along the monuments and toiling with the flowers and we can call it a day, a definitely #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A match made in heaven.

Flowers. There must always be flowers to color my world. I dedicate this picture to #SundayPurple (ish) and #MondayRed by @Kalemandra, who colors my world every single day!

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

The introduction in the photo is really beautiful, with an addendum too" sometimes not only face reflects face but Heart or emotions reflects on the face". Is it so? Just asking!

Well, to be fair, face reflects face is a quote as I noted, but emotions reflect the face as well, yes. I will have to find a quote for that. ;)

Thank you so much! I am pretty fortunate to have all these wonderful monuments to choose from and they are begging to be photographed!

I try to step aside from the negativity as I really don't want it to impact my day. And it only breeds more negativity. There are many positive people here - just look at you two! Totally makes my day to read both of your posts!

Oh yes this post speaks to me like the quiet whisper in the dark of the night. We are indeed the product of our choices. There is a few I would not mind a do over on to be honest. Yet I am looking to enjoy the moment as well as build a nice tomorrow.

You know you always have taught me many things, however I feel the idea that "today is a perfect day for a perfect day!" is one of the smartest as well as the most beautiful things ever. Thanks Sunshine for all you do.

Oh, you don't want a do over! You are a product of your life experiences, and to change anything would upset the universe. Besides, there isn't anything of note to change.

Well I have to say I have really come to appreciate do overs. To my mind it is brilliant. We as kids realized that things are not always perfect, and that neither party could see the whole picture perfectly, so instead of wasting time arguing, employ the do-over. Honestly it can work wonders!

I say to use whatever works for you.

As for me, do-overs - especially over and over is only an excuse for bad behavior that wants to be forgiven. So lucky for you that your wife is a tolerant woman.

I believe that it is a good sign to be happy with where you are also and I am in a happy place. Are there things that I wish would be different? Of course! I think that that is very human and it helps us strive to be better in some cases and in other cases it pushes us forward to do better for ourselves.

How sad it would be to be unhappy with your life and unhappy with where you are. I just can't imagine that!

I hope you are having a most wonderful week ahead and that life is treating you in a most wonderful manner!

I just said on another post that I am glad I did not keep a journal back when o was younger and a renegade but then again that time is all part of what lead me to be who I am today and although I am no angel I am happy with where I am now

There are many things I've done in life that I wish I could change the way I reacted to things, but again, it's part of who I am and part of what I've become.

Perfection is so overrated!

It is through these experiences that we grow and develop into the people that we are. You are such a kind and generous soul, very forgiving and truly laid back. Well I don't believe that this is how you have always been oh, I believe that there are certain elements of that that is always been part of you. Life has sure thrown me some surprises but I must say that for the most part they have been positive. You can't ask for anything more than that. I hope that you have a most wonderful week ahead and as I look out over the Rainy landscape here in the district, I am wondering where this is all coming from. I don't think I've seen this much rain ever.

I like to say Perfection is over rated also but with a twist sometimes i add to it and Say Perfection, and sanity are both overrated and not my style :)

Actually looking back even in my times when I was a closed book, I was not unkind, infact i was kind then and would hep anyone who needed hep, but I for the most part stuck more to myself and kept my emotions locked away I don’t think anyone ever knew what I was thinking or feeling, as I didnt let them, because I wouldn’t let myself feel them either, so perhaps i was not a renegade as such more of a emotional Hermit i guess LOL
BUt thats all inthe past I think and with huge gratitude to Lulu the person I am now is the kid of person i want to be inside and out ;)
I saw there were flood warnings in your area, I hope its not to bad where you are and wishing you a wonderful week ahead

I am glad that you're happy for me but I think that for many reasons I am exactly where I need to be right now in this stage of my life. My mother and father always used to talk about different stages of their lives and I was too young and self-absorbed to understand what they were talking about, but it's funny how now I am starting to see how there are so many faces in a person's life. Things known and unknown happened to bring you to the next stage. Anyway, it is exactly as my parents and their parents before them talked about. That Jefferson Memorial is truly special. It just feels 'right' doesn't it?

I love that you found what my mother would call 'old roses'. And that they weren't perfectly tended. Makes me happy and would have made my mother happy too!

One of my favorite Memorials, for so many different reasons. There are many mornings that we share thoughts and coffee as we watch the day on full before our very eyes. Those stairs leading to the memorial have been a favorite spot for many to share their coffee with.

As far as the Roses go , those five pedaled beauties are what my mother used to refer to as wild roses as they used to grow all through the woods. Now someone along the way has tamed them into being part of a garden, but I still see them all over the wooded areas here. Their fragrance is absolutely heavenly. Yes! But, the weather wasn't with us. :( I ducked in to get out of the weather and lost my good seat. I ended up leaving before the night was over. It was the worst ever weather-wise. But, I still like to go every year. :)

They ARE pretty in a salad, let me tell you! They dont really taste like anything, but are good for you and pretty. Im growing some in my raised beds and we throw them in the salad all the time.

Such an incredible monument and so stunning with the reflection in the water, the white of the building so contrasting the black of night. Beautiful picture with an equally beautiful sentiment.
