Beautiful Sunday in the Garden of Life

avatar
(Edited)

Mayhap your heart has never been in bloom – and that would be a shame.

Just like birds in song, the sweet perfume of honeysuckle and the splendor of a golden morning, the beauty lay in how you grasp it. To experience this passion, embrace the magic.

image.png

In a perfect dance with the rhythm of life, we grow and feel encouraged by those around us.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom ― Anaïs Nin

image.png

For my soul can only take so many days of darkness before it breaks out in a fit of sunshine.

Today is brought to you by #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108 where you show off how you spend your day and also #SublimeSunday by @c0ff33a where any random post will do.

Sunday is usually my garden day if I have nothing else going on! Weeding and feeding and pruning things back a bit. I swapped a beach day for a garden day, but, there is plenty of beach on the horizons and my garden was complaining out loud. So to the garden, we must go!

image.png

Stop and listen to the breeze, then breathe in some happiness and sunshine for your day.

Many of us have made our world so familiar that we do not see it anymore. An interesting question to ask yourself at night is, “What did I really see this day?” John O’Donohue

image.png

The sun’s rays touch down upon this soul and cover me to the very edges with grateful today. There is comfort in this, the feeling, the warmth of it, for my world has been colored with love. And so, I pass this sentiment on to you, my friend, to pass it on to another and another, until one day, we will have decorated the world.

image.png

Flowers. There must always be flowers to color my world. I dedicate this picture to #SundayPurple by @Kalemandra, who colors my world every single day!

image.png

There are mornings that just seem "more" than others. If we can take in those precious moments and embrace them, just a little bit longer. Oh, yes! What a wonderful world; what a beautiful life.

I see trees of green,
red roses too.
I see them bloom,
for me and you.
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue,
And clouds of white.
The bright blessed day,
The dark sacred night.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow,
So pretty in the sky.
Are also on the faces,
Of people going by,
I see friends shaking hands.
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying,
"I love you".

I hear babies cry,
I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more,
Than I'll ever know.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

Yes, I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

Oh yeah.

Louis Armstrong

Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. I find myself in the garden again, where the flowers and me will call it a day, a definitely #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A definite match made in my heaven.

house.png

And just like that, these musings are done. I want to thank @ace108 and @c0ff33a for hosting these challenges and just so you know, although much sun and shine was used up today, I can guarantee that there is still a little left in my heart. Have a most fabulous day!

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

@adenijiadeshina As a friendly note: It is rude behavior to upvote yourself and not give one cent to those that support you. It is not about the money, but, merely about manners and courtesy. This is not about my post either. You happen to do this on everybody's post.

And see? I try hard to support everyone who comes here, even if it is a small contribution.

Thank you for the comment Have a great day.

Oh I love that red bloomed tree thingie in the front! Is it a tree or a plant, if you know? I want one lol! Great words and awesome photos! I surely never know someone so full of happy and sunshine. It is amazing to me Every Single Day! You are quite the inspiration, I can tell you that most assuredly! So in touch with the magic of life! Oh and to get such fresh outstanding photos OMG! I can barely manage cobble cobble together some hack and trash! In a word: Outstanding!

My dear sir, red bloomed tree thingy in the front is called a crepe myrtle. That particular color is called dynomite. I tell you that because there are several shades of red / pink.

Well it's hardly worth putting it out there on the blockchain if it's all doom and gloom, knowing that it's going to stay there for the rest of your life and then after that. But I guess that's not true because a lot of people write about angst and things of that nature and are perfectly comfortable in doing so.

That kind of made me laugh when you said you need to Cobble together some hack in trash. Oh my God unbelievable. Your posts are fine and we all love them. I'll have to put a plug in for you because I just saw that your post is only voted it 50 cents, which means that a greeter at Walmart is paid 700% more than you are. Would you like to Kleenex to weep upon? Just kidding! Your posts are witty and funny and I love reading them. Now get out there and get some votes!

My dear sir, red bloomed tree thingy in the front is called a crepe myrtle. That particular color is called dynomite. I tell you that because there are several shades of red / pink.

Well, I learned something today. I've heard of crepe myrtle for years, of course, but I always imagined them in shades of lilac / lavender / purple.

Don't mind me. I once asked our waitress in a restaurant in Cape Cod if she knew what those huge gorgeous bushes laden with flowers in pink, purple, white (and I think I may have even seen blue ones) ... were called that grew in everyone's yard all over town.

"The rhododendrons?" she asked quizzically ... looking at me like I'd just landed from outer space.

Ok ... I'd heard of rhododendrons, too ... all my life, but I never recalled seeing one or making the connection with the name if I did. I envisioned those as low-growing and discreet ... like an azalea -- you know. The kind people give in pots so you can plant them in your yard.

We don't have a lot of any of those where I live.

I'm starting to feel kind of like a ignoramus when it comes to flowers. Maybe your posts will cure that ... eventually.

A summer day spent outdoor is a perfect time!

I have gardens all the way around the house, and I do love them, although at the beginning of the season, they are a lot of work.

A summer day spent outside... Heavenly. Yes!!

Thank you and I am so glad they could bring you some enjoyment! Enjoy the week ahead!

Thank you for the tip! You are very generous!

I wrote about "summer day outside" because (and it sounds too sad) I spent all weekend at home. Had some work to do on Saturday, and on Sunday it was heavy rain almost all day long. Now I am sitting in the office with a feeling like the weekend wasn't real ))

Oh!!! That does make me so sad when that happens! I am so sorry and now I need to go read. I can only hope that this weekend is much better! xoxo

Gardening makes every day more than beautiful, especially if the gardener is such a talented ... photographer.

When I see in films these very big American homes I ask me who does the cleaning in all the rooms. The European houses are much smaller and yet the cleaning is hard and tiring.

Thank you, Dan. @bluemoon

Every day I walk through my gardens, I have a rush of passion in my soul The new growth, some going to seed, whatever the turn of events...

Lest you forget, I lived in Europe, in several different locations. For the most part, small and cozy, very comfortable. Over here, it is often that the houses are larger. although we have many small one. I can say that my house is never out of place, but, I clean every day, jut a little and it all gets done. The house here is newer, so very easy to clearn. I also have another house on the Shore and it is an older Victorian house that is harder to clean and at least a house made in 1869... So not as airtight, etc. For me, you can only see the front tof the house, it is quite a bit larger, but, I have a big family that is always visiting, so there is plenty of room. That is why I will proably never downsize.

Thanks for stopping by.

Oh, sometimes I just left my mouth ramble and then I do run off to my Gardens and as your husband could probably tell you it is a most pleasurable experience. Although I gave up the beach for the garden oh, I can tell you that really was a sublimely beautiful Sunday. And I hope that yours was the same.

It's a good thing to prod us to stop and think. I'm still thinking about "what did I see today". I can't seem to come up with a substantial answer except I think I'm seeing God in his work more than before. Kinda big!

I think I see that more and more in my life. Perhaps because I tend to enjoy what is around me, partly because I am more in tune with nature and perhaps it is because God has put himself in my path.

Very big!

The red tree happens to be a crepe myrtle, but I think that you are too far up north for them to live. They're really very eye-catching and you can find them from New Jersey, the lower part of it too Florida and all the way out west as far as California, you can even find them in Texas and Arizona which surprised me when I've lived there because I, you can even find them in Texas and Arizona which surprised me when I've lived there because I thought it'd be too hot. But I guess they adapt. this is actually only a very tiny section of my garden but I can honestly say that I do love it and it loves me back most days.

Thank you for stopping in and always showing your support and as always I wish you a wonderful week ahead.

Thank you for being an excellent guide for SteemUSA!!

Well, honestly, there are some pretty sizable gardens, but, the larger gardens are at the house on the Shore. More land = more gardens! :)

When we move one option is going small and easy to look after which will mean minimal gardens , if we however decide to go bigger with either a duplex or multi level for the kids as well then we may have gardens who knows time will tell

Each time I come to visit you leave me more and more speechless...I don’t even know where to began. Your photography is a true work of art, a painting in a photo! It is so peaceful and overwhelmingly breathtaking. Do you sell your photos online? You sure would do well if you did! Your words always align with the beauty in your photos, making us think of warm thoughts and the joys of life. I am resteeming this post so others can have their worlds painted with these beautiful colors. There is so much to embrace in this one post! You are such an inspiration ~ 🌺

And oh my what a BEAUTIFUL home you have!!!!

Thank you so much! I am so humbled by your words. Truly. The photography is something that I enjoy today as much as tending to the garden. It's just an extension of my love for the beauty of nature.

I have you thought about selling, but I'm not really good at honking my own work because there is so much out there available. So, I just post my work here. Thank you so much for taking this home with you and sharing it with your readers. I want to thank you for coming by to hello, leaving your beautiful words behind.

And my house? Thank you. I know it sounds silly but I absolutely love my neighborhood and the feeling of safe and secure that it gives me over with such beautiful people. I hope you have a most wonderful day as you start off into a new week.

It's a long journey. Jobs are hard to come by especially if you are older. I heard it's the same in USA.
Wiki has a good write out on pickleball including history from summer of 1965 on Bainbridge Island, Washington,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickleball
But this youtube video gives a good overview:

avatar

Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddleball sport (similar to a racquet sport) that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, with several modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid 1960s as a children's backyard game.
