This is a finishing drill that you can add to your workouts. In order to be an all-around player, you got to be able to finish around the rim in different ways with both hands. So, this routine just gonna work on that and you can do it every day in your

10 Mikan Layups

So, the routine starts off with 10 Mikan layups. This is a great drill for youth players all the way to college players but especially when you want to get back to the basics. How it works is you're gonna plant your left foot for a right-hand layup then you're gonna plant your right foot for a left-hand layup as soon as you make 10 of these, you're gonna go into reverse Mikans.

10 Reverse Mikan Layups

This layup simulates you know European layups or reverse layup so you want to be able to finish around the rim with both hands. Same footwork, the left hand, right foot right hand left foot. After you make 10 of those, we're going to go into a 5-layup series on both sides.

5-layup Series

The first one is a left-hand layup. The next one is an inside hand right-hand layup, working on your jab step, working on your conditioning. You got to go game speed the entire drill. Next is a European reverse layup with a left hand getting all the way to the other side of the basket. Number four is a regular reverse hand reverse layup with the right hand. Last but not least, you got a left-hand floater on this side. All these finishes you're gonna do in the game especially guards.

Now you're gonna go to the right side, remember if you miss the layup you guys do that same layup over again. Next, you got inside hand finish with the left hand while we keep working on your jab step, working on your pump fake. Got to continue with your game speed. Do a lot of different layups and allows different ways that are all layups that you do in the game. Left-hand reverse layup. Got a European reverse layup with the right hand getting over to the other side of the basket. And the tenth layup is a right-hand floater.

After you make those 10 layups, you're gonna make five free-throws which usually take you about three minutes.
