BABAK 16 Besar P musim 2018-2019 baru saja rampung digelar atau tepatnya pada Kamis (1/11/2018) dini hari WIB. Dari empat pertandingan yang dimainkan, nyaris tidak ada kejutan berarti yang tercipta. Yang mana tim-tim besar mampu melaju ke babak berikutnya.
Hasil positif mampu didapat Tottenham Hotspur ketika bertandang ke markas West Ham United di London Stadium. Spurs berhasil lolos ke babak perempatfinal Piala Liga Inggris 2018-2019 usai menyudahi laga dengan kemenangan 3-1 atas West Ham.
Adalah Stephan Lichtsteiner serta Emile Smith Rowe yang berhasil keluar sebagai pahlawan kemenangan Arsenal atas Blackpool. Sementara gol balasan Blackpool sendiri berhasil disarangkan oleh Paudie O’Connor tepatnya di menit 66.
Selain Spurs dan Arsenal, Chelsea juga jadi klub London lainnya yang berhasil melangkah ke babak perempatfinal Piala Liga Inggris 2018-2019. Chelsea berhasil lolos setelah melewati duel sengit melawan Derby County di Stamford Bridge Stadium dengan skor akhir 3-2.
Akan tetapi sangat disayangkan hasil positif gagal diraih Crystal Palace ketika bertandang ke markas Middlesbrough pada babak 16 Besar Piala Liga Inggris 2018-2019. Palace harus menyudahi kiprah mereka di Piala Liga Inggris 2018-2019 usai takluk 0-1 dari tim tuan rumah.
