My Actifit Report Card: December 31 2019 Happy New Year

Last Post of the Year

Well the end of the year is fast approaching for us here and for many is already here, so first off wishing off all a Very Happy and Healthy New Year.
Today I worked I do love these days as it is so quiet both on the trains and in the office.

Being the last day of the year it did dawn on me, well not dawn on me but make me think that my retirement is now just two months away, so I was checking through my list of things i need to do before I retire and made a checklist with dates of the various things I have to do, the thought of retiring is a mixed bag at the moment excited to be finishing work for the most part, but every now and again the What the heck have I done slips into my mind LOL

I did take a little stroll mid-morning and after lunch to get some steps in and will share a few random shots on these walks

But before Starting with my shots from today's walk, I will start with a shot taken A week or two ago when passing through Grand Central, which I thought was kind of fitting since approaching midnight tonight people will be clock watching for the change of year and decade, the clock in the main concourse of the terminal, from a different angle from my previous shots of it and I quite like how this turned out

I noticed this new Barber shop on second ave this morning and the fact it was open at 7AM, I may well try this place it next time i need a haircut as it is very close to the office

I did say random shots on todays walk and you will see what I mean, from a Barber shop to a sidewalk cart for bagels coffee and such

Ohh yeah it will be crazy by now over a Million people I am sure, I went to Times Square once about 8PM on New years and it was far to crowded for me

What a beautiful clock to count down the hours, where most are digital
nowadays, folks might forget how to see it any other way, tic toc! :-)

Going to the barber at 7 am? You may want to make sure that he is fully awake first. You don't want him to cut more than just hair. 😊

Love the clock photo.... the street venders.....

Really love the B & W of the shiny ornaments on the leafless tree/bush... and the last of the decorated trees and spaces. I can't believe it's over !

Grand Central is one place I would love to see, the old clocks for me add character, a few around the home ticking quietly in the background.

Dressed up tree with no leaves reminds me of my brother adding his decorations onto cactus plants each year.

Happy new year, we made it into 2020. Preparing for change entering retirement, one definitely questions this new chapter.

Well, the first thing to do after retirement is to take a long rest JJ.
A sabbatical as some call it and than after that to ease into the new life.
No panic, no worries and the only thing is to get the old daily habits out of your system. I have been watching my father in law for the past 2 years after his retirement and he is as happy as can be with the new freedom to do what he likes.
They asked him to return on contract and he flatly refused.
A new life is waiting for you my friend!
Oh! And your photo's are great as usual.

Well whether i like it or not a sabbatical and rest after I end working is going to happen, it will take between 2 to 4 months for the final payout and pension to start and we will have limited funds for that period so taking it easy will be on the cards

I am also going to phase into it telecommuting two or three days a weel for the last two months will help as well

Oh yeah man, it seems that you have done your homework well.
Now if only steem could recover, you will receive an additional boost.
What my father in law did was that he invested his final payout and added a part of the monthly interest to his monthly pension income.

I have always wanted to go to a barber shop to get straight razor shave, but I am too chicken! My wife and I cut my hair every weekend, so that isn't too much of an issue :) I can't remember the last time I paid for a haircut!

For years I used to use clippers and cut my own hair when in the field, I would still happily do that or have my wife do it, but she insist I go to a barber
