The 16th Match of the Big Bash League 2023-24 was yesterday between Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Thunder at The Gabba, Brisbane. In which Brisbane Heat defeated Sydney Thunder by 15 runs.

TOSS- Brisbane Heat won the toss and opted to bat.

Brisbane Heat Innings- Brisbane Heat batted first after winning the toss, the entire team was dismissed after scoring 172 runs in the fourth ball of the final over. Brisbane Heat started the inning very but the ending was very poor, Nathan McSweeney played a very brilliant quick half-century inning of 73 runs with the help of 1 six and 7 boundaries in just 52 balls, and Josh Brown played a very brilliant inning of 39 runs with the help of 1 six and 4 boundaires in just 29 balls, Sam Billings played a quick inning of 23 runs with the help of 4 boundaries in just 13 balls, Matt Renshaw scored 17 runs in 9 balls, apart from this no batsman could touch figure out of 10 runs, Michael Neser dismissed just for 5 runs in 5 balls, Xavier Bartlett 4 runs in 4 balls, Paul Walter 1 run in 2 balls, Colin Munro, Spencer Johnson, and Mitchell Swepson dismissed without scoring, and Matthew Kuhnemann remains unbeaten without playing a ball. In this way, the entire team was dismissed for 172 runs in 19.4 overs and set a target of 173 runs in front of Sydney Thunder.

Sydney Thunder inning- Sydney Thunder chasing 173 runs in the second inning could manage just 157 runs in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 15 runs. Sydney Thunder started the inning very well but the ending was very poor. Cameron Bancroft played a brilliant inning of 46 runs with the help of 4 boundaries in just 39 balls, Alex Hales scored 28 runs in 22 balls, Oliver Davies scored 23 runs in 16 balls, and Alex Ross 19 runs in 15 balls, apart from this, Gurinder Sandhu dismissed just for 10 runs in 7 balls, Chris Green 3 runs in 3 balls, Nathan McAndrew 2 runs in 2 balls, Daniel Sams 1 run in 2 balls, and Zaman Khan remains unbeaten for 1 run in 1 ball. In this way, Sydney Thunder could manage just for 157 runs after losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 15 runs.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH- Brisbane Heat batsman Nathan McSweeney was selected as the player of the match, he played a very brilliant powerful quick half-century inning of 73 runs with the help of 1 six and 7 boundaries in just 52 balls.
