Portugal-Street Skate DAY! Costa de Caparica

Aloha Skaterzzz!

This is my first Magazine post. My name is Iago Bresciani, I am from Curitiba, Brazil, currently traveling Europe with my wife Anastassia, living full time in a van (Sprinter high-roof 2009). At the moment we are in Lisbon Portugal. We have traveled from Tallinn, Estonia to here and we plan to start driving back soon, since Summer is the best time to be over there, not too hot, not cold, midnight sun and a beautiful city. I feel so good there :)

And you now what having sun usually means right? Skate!!!! It's crazy to think that is almost end of April but the temperature is ranging between -2 and 12 in Estonia lol no thanks.

I would like to dedicate another post with a little bit of my background. This one will be solely about the Skate session I had yesterday. Why? Because I actually do not skate streets as often as I used to. I confess I am more of a park guy. Essentially because I believe to be overall less painful experience. Yes that's lame, and not gangsta but do what makes you happy.

Being around the world gives you a benefit of knowing people from all over. As I arrive in different countries and city I ask myself if I know anyone living in that area. So when I arrived in Lisbon I hit my Boy Matheus LUZ. We actually used to be sponsored by the same brand (Campeonatosdeskate.com.br - run by Marcos Bollmann) back in Brazil. And this dude goes crazy on the streets, I always see him posting on Insta stories the most unskatable places, which I would never see as a skate spot.

Having that creativity in searching and skating spots that are naturally built that way, inspired me to write this article.

Matheus invited me to go for a street session where some of his friends would go to some specific spots in Almada, Portugal (across the bridge from Lisbon) and I thought that would be cool to hit the streets again, even though I had no intention of skating since I have been recovering from a rolled ankle and I had skate the day before so I wanted to take it easy.

We first went to a spot where the skater Joao Allen (famous Portuguese skater) tried to boardslide on a very creative ledge.

Skater: Joao Allen This is just one of the tries that i filmed. As Joao was trying the trick, Matheus showed me another spot nearby, where he did this out of no where.

Joao actually didn't end up making the boardslide and decided to come back another day. So moved to another spot.

We then moved to a spot in Beautiful Costa de Caparica ( On the coat of Portugal), where I actually lived for 6 months with my wife back in 2023 and started leaning how to surf.

Matheus once again Surprised us all with his wish to skate the spot.

Then was finally time to hit up the last spot an old abandoned waterpark that close 20+ years ago because some people died on it... Yes it got dark real quick.

Well only Matheus went for it, with powerslides of course, becasue he do have a brain.

And that was the last spot we went to, pretty fun day and amazing weather! This might be the first of many upcoming skate life stories I have to share :)
