In a new arrangement, 32 teams from 32 countries have participated in the ninth edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The world football tournament which started on July 20 and will lass to August 20.
The 32 participating teams are batting for a share of $110m. That prize pool is three times more than what was given in the previous edition. FIFA will award the winning team $10.5m, while teams on the second and third positions would receive $7.5m and $6.75m respectively. The team on the fourth spot would receive $6.25m. Teams qualified to the quarter finals stage if the tournament would share $4.25m while those who made it to the round of 16 would share $4.25m. The players would share $6.21m while $4.29m will go to the federation.
