My Actifit Report Card: March 12 2025
Hello again! I am Iris from Indonesia and I can't believe it's been more than a week since I joined Hive community. I really enjoy sharing my daily activities here and give you tid-bits about my work in Indonesia as well as our daily life here.
Today, as usual I went to one of the factories that we are working with. We have new group running and we need to check the progress. Currently, they are on the assembly stage, so I will give you a sneak peek on the assembly area.
This is the factory that located at Pandaan, a small industrial distric in East Java. It is a pretty montanous area, so beside for industrial sites, this district is also a famous holiday destination. As I have mentioned, this factory is quite small, so most of the process are done manually. The assembly area is also not that big and the workers are local people that lived around the area.
Today, the workers are making the frame for the case goods. They used hydraulic machine to make sure that the profile is glued perfectly. However, due to the height of asian people usually are not tall, they have to climb to operate the machine.
After the frames are done, the worker need to assemble the side panels and the back panels. To help reach the precision, the factory made a DIY mould that will hold the frame and level all the panels, so the workers can put nails, screws and other hardware easier. It is interesting that we still do all of this process manually, however labour fee is not that high here and we are a country with big population, so human resources for ground work like this are abundant.
