World Rank: #3
Star Players: Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Nico Otamendi
Argentina are always a chance especially when Lionel Messi is in the squad. The team will also have believe as the reigning Copa America champions after beating Brazil in the final last year.
They lost to champions France in the 2018 World Cup and will be looking to take their game to the next level. One of the most promising signs for Argentina is that they aren't relying on Messi as much as they used too, with the PSG superstar hitting the twilight of his career at 35 years old.
Entering into June, Argentina were on a record 32-game unbeaten streak after an impressive 3-0 win over Italy. They also smashed Estonia with Messi scoring all five goals in a 5-nil win.
Argentina's 32-game win streak is a new national record and five shy of the international football record. It's this sort of form that makes Argentina an absolute threat heading into the World Cup.
World Cup Group: Group A - Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Mexico
Prediction: You can almost expect Argentina to qualify beyond the group stage with relative ease against a group containing Saudi Arabia, Poland and Mexico. Argentina has progressed to the knock out rounds at every World Cup since 2002. Prior to their loss to France, who ended up winning the World Cup, they were World Cup finalists in 2014 in a heartbreaking loss to Germany. In fact, Argentina have only failed to qualify for one World Cup in history - the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
Argentina will go very deep at the World Cup and are even considered by many as a dark horse to win the tournament. Lionel Messi will be desperate to add a World Cup winner's medal to an illustrious career in what is likely to be his last tournament at the age of 35. Argentina are looking better than they've ever been in recent times and aren't totally reliant on Messi.
Messi, Giovanni Lo Celso, Angel Di Maria and Lautaro Martinez offer one of the most threatening attacks we'll see in Qatar. We'll almost certainly see Messi adapt a "false 9" role and it's one that could very well see Argentina win the tournament.
In midfield we'll see one of the best midfield pairings at the tournament with Rodrigo de Paul going box-to-box and Guido Rodríguez playing a strong defensive midfield role. The defensive line is just as strong with a perfect balance of young and old.
There's Premier League experience with centre-back pairing Nico Otamendi and Cristian Romero and they'll be flanked by the electrifying duo of Nico Tagliafico and Nahuel Molina. One of the most underrated parts of the team is Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who has never lost a game for Argentina yet.
Fun fact: Since 2009, Argentina has never lost a game when Messi has scored. It's going to take something special to beat La Albiceleste. Although I've got them exiting the tournament at the semi finals stage, I wouldn't be surprised if they go on and win the World Cup in Qatar and taking their third tournament of all-time.
Semi Finals.

Argentina will definitely go beyond the group stage, the team is packed with very good players plus football greatest player of this generation
which is Lionel Messi is also in the team and he is on top form this season. Wow, this world cup will be a joy to watch.
They are one of the strong contenders, alongside their bitter rivals Brazil. With the matches they have scheduled ahead of the world cup i can see them breaking Italy's unbeatable streak record.
I don't believe in this Argentina' Team, they have a good and great players but they don't play as a team. They have star who want to shine by themselves.
I don't think so my friend, Argentina has not lost a game since 2019, they are more than ready to win the World cup in Qatar.
I really hope that Messi is able to get his World Cup win. Unfortunately they do not have a very strong team. But I also think that a torunament can always shift which is why your predicitions is pretty accurate.
All eyes will be on Argentina in the coming world cup tournament, I am rooting for the country to win it this year. This will be Messi's last world cup and I am quite sure we will all get to see the best of him in the world cup matches.
Argentina has the potential to win the title
