Touring Atok And Baguio With My Headache

(Edited)

I didn’t get to sleep a lot yesterday. We took the bus from Manila to Baguio at 2am. Usually I’d still be awake at that time and sleep around 3 or 4am but since I was travelling, my sleeping schedule was so messed up. We arrived at Baguio at 6am, only a few hours of sleep for me. It was cold like spring in Japan cold and I was wearing light or summer clothes. But I like cold so it’s still fine.

Good thing I booked us an exclusive tour. Check in was at 4pm so we have time to kill. We went to Atok first, then spend the rest of the tour in Baguio.

Our first stop in Atok wasthe Beacon Hill. There were no other tourists there on a Friday morning which surprised me. Paid the 150 entrance fee and we’re off to ascend the hill. It’s a hill inspired from events that happened before. I cannot relate to be honest. There were only a few writings to be able to understand what’s this design is all about. I think they’re overdoing the decors here, especially with the telephone booth but it’s a normal telephone you find at home.

I think the entrance fee of 150 is too much for this place. We didn’t even stay long there. The only thing I enjoyed there was this cute kitten who was holding on to me. This cute creature was on top of my shoe. Wonder if that was comfortable for the kitten.

We arrived at Northern Blossom after a while. I didn’t remember how long the ride was as I was grabbing every opportunity to sleep. Our first order of business in the flower farm was to eat though. I like the rice! But too much fried stuff in my plate. I need more of the salad. I miss Filipino food but if this continues, I’ll try my best not to miss it anymore.

To enter the flower farm, we had to pay environmental fee and entrance fee. In my mind, not again?! but well I think it’s okay this time because there’s free coffee and bread. There were different kinds of flowers and well, I enjoyed it. I’ll probably share more about it in another post. Hopefully I won’t get lazy. 😅

Our next stop was the Highest Point. No more entrance fees, finally. It’s a stopover to see Benguet. Refreshing and relaxing.

We passed by Half Tunnel. I wasn’t in the mood to stop and get out of the car. It’s a highway in the mountains anyways.

We arrived at Strawberry Farm only to buy souvenirs and strawberry shake. No strawberry picking. The strawberries are little small compared to what I usually see in Japan.

The Igorot Stone Kingdom was nice but it’s too hot. We were there when the sun was at its peak. I cannot truly enjoy walking around in this maze-like place because of it. The place reminds me of Assassins Creed or some other related game. 😅

We arrived at the Lourdes Grotto but I’m not into this so I just stayed in one place waiting for my companions to arrive. At this time my headache was at its peak too. I’ve been using my Vicks inhaler ever since Northern Blossoms. Hayyy my head hurts and so was my stomach.

The Diplomat Hotel was the last destination for this tour. With 10 php entrance fee, I think it’s okay. Too bad we couldn’t go in though. This place was a stronghold during the world war, then later became a hotel, then eventually it was given to the government. Now it’s like partially abandoned, because I saw some parts where they stored some stuff. Storage area? I’m not sure.

After all the heat and walking, headache and stomachache, I was able to double my rings today. Can’t believe I was so tired that the rest of the day I was just sleeping. Still having headache now, I hope it will heal soon.

Two places I wanted to visit the last time I went to Baguio was the diplomat hotel and northern blossoms.

Yet, since it was a DIY the taxi fare going to NB was too expensive.

For DH, my companions were both scared to visit the place 🤣.

It was really very far. I'm surprised you were able to find a taxi going there. It's an advantage if you book an exclusive tour though. Kinda pricey but I think it's still the same given that you’re going so far.

We arrived at Strawberry Farm only to buy souvenirs and strawberry shake. No strawberry picking.

My hometown, we actually live nearby these farms. :) For me, it's the strawberry ice cream that is best. Though I wouldn't recommend tourists to go to La Trinidad just for the picking. Strawberries can easily be bought in Baguio marketplace.

Baguio is close to our province, but I have not been to Northern Blossom yet. I am happy to see your Baguio Travel blog. The kitten looks cute.
