Friday Night Walks And Talks (to myself)
It took me forever to finally start getting back in shape. Recent Saturdays walking outside made me want to be more serious in thinking about my health. I’ve been a coward getting on the scale since I-don’t-know-when because I’m pretty sure I gain weight from munching chips and sitting down the whole day. It’s hard to say no to chips. I think I’ve become addicted to it. I know it’s not healthy but hayyy, I can’t give a valid excuse.
Anyhow I lack sleep on Thursday so I was so tired the entire Friday. But I have lots of deadlines at work so even when it’s hectic, I needed to focus and not waste any second. As usual, sitting on the chair the entire work time except when I had to take breaks in between.
Friday dawn before I slept we went to get groceries. At least I was able to walk.
Since I wasn’t able to go to the gym on Thursday, I promised myself to go on Friday. I also had reserve something in the facility so there’s no reason for me to laze around in the house. As for sleep, after work I was able to nap a few minutes so I was a bit energized from that.
Before going there, I had to get some more groceries in the drug store because we’re running out of supplies. Then, off I went to the gym.
My reservation is from 11pm and here I was, walking in the middle of the night. I’m getting used to this time already, and even if I encounter a ghost (if and only if, hopefully never!), we won’t understand each other for sure because of the language barrier. 😂 That’s why I guess I was never scared walking alone at night time.
I found a shortcut and have been using this walkway instead of walking along the road. It’s bright so it’s still fine.
In between roads, I needed to look around if there’s a car to cross to the next walkway but so far, it’s been quiet.
I also enjoyed seeing the art. This one features everyone’s favorite volcano, Mt. Fuji. Okay, maybe not everyone likes it. 😅
It’s around 10 minutes walk to the gym so I guess that counts as cardio.
At some point, I was left alone so it’s nice. I don’t have to worry about other people. It’s a small gym and not a lot of equipment. Not much but it’s enough to get started. Cheaper than most gyms in Japan too. I’ll share about the gym in another post if I won’t forget. 😅
Here’s my workout record for Friday. I have 8k steps goal everyday and I missed a thousand more.
2 sets of sit ups because I couldn’t make it til the 3rd set anymore.
Others, I guess you can tell by the machine. 😂
It’s really just a small gym. There’s no dumbbells or what. Good for starters.
I just realized the sets are not displayed on the list, it only shows when you click on it. But nah, okay. 😂
Great sweat today. Hopefully tomorrow too.
Thanks for reading!
See you around! じゃあ、またね!
all photos are taken from my phone. last photo is a screenshot from the gym’s app.

Healthy witty is a happy witty. Baka naman pwede na mag invest ng exercise equipment like dumbbell sa bahay?
Hahahaha too small ung bahay namin for that
Try the elastic thingy instead of weights. That was what I used during my balik-alindog program in 2019. Effective naman sya.
ano yan? d ba yan ung bands? or iba?
Uu. Yung pull up resistance band. Nakakalibang gamitin di mo mamamalayan masakit na maskels mo. Haha
Kailangan talaga minsan e force sarili natin mg warm up. Nakakatamad Kasi talaga.😅
hahahaha true! lalo na pag sobrang lamig sa labas, hayyy parang ayaw mo nlng lumabas
I used to go to the gym around 10.30 pm and it was so nice being there alone. The neighborhood seems so clean, it looks beautiful at night...
going late at night is really the best option especially for people like who don’t like crowds.
the neighborhood’s clean yesss! so far quiet neighborhoods like this that i’ve been to are all clean and beautiful!
Yes and also feels nice to have a workout in an empty gym... I really liked the neighborhood...
Random artworks on the streets— how I wish we have it here..
I'm curious though when you say "not everyone likes it"... hehe, any stories behind the famous Mt. Fuji?
i just figured it’s not everyone’s bet. maybe they like something else. hehe
i hope so too!! who knows someday maybe there will be arts on the streets!
