Luego de tantos rumores, parece que todo está acordado, Charles Oliveira va a estar luchando contra Beneil Dariush, combate estipulado para el evento de UFC288, que tiene como fecha el 6 de mayo del 2023. Esto es una gran noticia para la UFC, se viene mencionando la pelea desde meses atrás, los fanáticos desean verla y la compañía complace a su afición.

Lo entiendo, pero, creo que se equivocó, hubiera tenido una chance directamente de luchar por el título, sin tener un gran obstáculo de por medio, porque Beneil Dariush es un muro muy duro de atravesar.
Vuelvo a recalcar que Beneil Dariush, tiene que ser el favorito en este combate, por lo cual, no está nada sencillo para Charles Oliveira, quien debe ganar si desea nuevamente pelear por el cinturón. No hay otra oportunidad, por detrás vienen varios peleadores que se convertirán en contendientes, promesas con enormes talentos, leyendas establecidas como Dustin Poirier, sinceramente las 155 libras es una división de grandes luchadores y no sé si Charles pueda obtener un nuevo intento de titular si llega a perder.

La división de peso ligero, me parece la más competitiva de todo el UFC, viendo el top 10, podemos apreciar que cualquier peleador puede llegar hacia la cima y eso nos dice que la categoría está en candela. Charles Oliveira tiene 33 años, una derrota contra Dariush lo aleja del top 3 y seguramente tendría luego otra pelea muy dura. No quiero pensarlo, pero quizás venga el declive de Charles Oliveira, lo veo perdiendo contra Dariush y 2 derrotas consecutivas pesan y más en una división tan fuerte.
Beneil Dariush tiene igualmente 33 años de edad, pero llegan en momentos distintos, este hombre tiene hambre de gloria, quiere ser campeón, hace poco se estuvo quejando con la compañía, porque aún no le han dado la oportunidad titular, pero, esta es la gran opción, ganando a Charles Oliveira conseguiría lo que tanto quiere. Sería totalmente lo opuesto, Beneil Dariush lo veo en un momento de total despegue, está a punto de venir lo mejor para su carrera y encontrar un gran ascenso al estrellato.
The lightweight division, seems to me the most competitive of all the UFC, looking at the top 10, we can see that any fighter can reach the top and that tells us that the category is on fire. Charles Oliveira is 33 years old, a loss against Dariush takes him away from the top 3 and surely he would have another very tough fight. I don't want to think about it, but maybe the decline of Charles Oliveira is coming, I see him losing against Dariush and 2 consecutive defeats weigh and more in such a strong division.

Espero un combate donde ambos vayan al suelo, son excelentes grapplers, dos maestros del jiu-jitsu, con herramientas suficientes para someter a cualquier peleador de la categoría. La diferencia está en la fuerza, Dariush es mucho más grande, por lo cual, puede complicar mucho a Charles Oliveira. Aunque Charles sea el peleador con más sumisiones en la historia del UFC, no veo ninguna forma en la que pueda someter a Beneil Dariush.
El combate también se puede establecer de pie, Beneil Dariush es un peleador con un striking decente, no tiene miedo de intercambiar con nadie, además posee una gran mandíbula, totalmente diferente a lo que sucede con Charles Oliveira, hombre que ha sido derribado por sus 4 últimos combatientes, lo han conectado y ha terminado en el suelo. Tampoco veo que Oliveira pueda dar un nocaut a Beneil Dariush, pero si puedo ver a Dariush consiguiendo un nocaut o colocando en aprietos a Oliveira con un buen golpe.
No soy un hater de Charles Oliveira, soy gran admirador de su trayectoria, se convirtió en un gran campeón, venció a 3 hombres duros de la división, pocos pueden hacer eso y ha hecho una gran carrera dentro de la compañía. Pero, soy objetivo, luego de ver lo mal que lucio contra Makhachev, no puedo ver una victoria frente a Dariush, son peleadores muy similares y pienso que puede suceder el mismo desenlace. Quizás me equivoque, pero no tengo miedo a eso, no tenemos la verdad absoluta, aunque mi predicción es una victoria de Beneil Dariush. Toca esperar que llegue el día, lo que si está seguro es que tendremos un gran combate.
I expect a fight where both go to the ground, they are excellent grapplers, two masters of jiu-jitsu, with enough tools to submit any fighter in the category. The difference is in strength, Dariush is much bigger, so he can complicate Charles Oliveira a lot. Even if Charles is the fighter with the most submissions in UFC history, I don't see any way he can submit Beneil Dariush.
The fight can also be set up on the feet, Beneil Dariush is a fighter with decent striking, he's not afraid to trade with anyone, plus he has a great jaw, totally different than Charles Oliveira, a man who has been knocked down by his last 4 fighters, they've connected and he's ended up on the ground. I also don't see Oliveira being able to give Beneil Dariush a knockout, but I can see Dariush getting a knockout or putting Oliveira in trouble with a good punch.
I'm not a hater of Charles Oliveira, I'm a big fan of his career, he became a great champion, he beat 3 tough men in the division, few can do that and he has made a great career within the company. But, I am objective, after seeing how bad he looked against Makhachev, I can't see a win against Dariush, they are very similar fighters and I think the same outcome can happen. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not afraid of that, we don't have the absolute truth, although my prediction is a win for Beneil Dariush. We have to wait for the day to come, what is certain is that we will have a great fight.

Sinceramente pienso que Oliveira hizo lo correcto, no aceptar la revancha y descansar, de haberlo hecho habría sido derrotado de igual manera o peor, ahora tiene mejores oportunidades, el tiempo sana.
Es verdad que no la tendrá fácil contra Darius, y lo has dicho bien, el tamaño y la fuerza son la diferencia, tal cual como sucedió con Islam, esa es la verdadera prueba que tiene Oliveira, y si no logra ganar el peso necesario para el combate es difícil que la supere, no por falta de habilidades sino de peso, pero si logra hacerlo las posibilidades de recuperar su título aumentarán considerablemente.
No me parece mal tampoco, entiendo que a veces toca asimilar mejor todo, aunque está corriendo un gran riesgo y ojalá le vaya bien. Es un hombre respetuoso y muy humilde.
Si logra ganar, estaré gratamente sorprendido y me hará pensar que efectivamente puede recuperar el cinturón. Se dice que esa noche contra Islam, Oliveira no estaba muy bien, nadie sabe, creo que este combate nos hará saber si fue algo raro o si de lo contrario el peso es un factor que lo coloca en mala posición, porque en habilidades se sabe que es un mostró.
