Cesta za pramenem Vltavy *Journey to the source of the Vltava River
- On our list of places we wanted to see on our vacation was the source of the Vltava River. The weather wasn't quite right, so we went anyway. We decided to park on the German side and walk across the border into Bohemia to the source of the Vltava River. The route was a bit shorter than if we had parked and walked only on the Czech side.
We are alone in the parking lot in the woods.
Trochu prší, tak psům oblékáme pláštěnky a jdeme krásnou cestou lemovanou podzimem obarvenými stromy.
- It's raining a bit, so we put raincoats on the dogs and walk along a beautiful path lined with autumn colored trees.
Dojdeme k jezeru Reschbachklause.
- We reach the Reschbachklause lake.
- From the lake, it starts a roughly one-kilometre climb, which I was originally a little worried about, but I have to say that the walk up and then back down on the Czech side was probably the nicest walk of the whole week of our holiday. Beautiful single trail🤩
Na vrcholu jdeme několik desítek metrů podél cesko-nemecké hranice.
- At the top we walk a few dozen meters along the Czech-German border.
- The final part of the trail, almost on the flat, was on asphalt ( Apparently the entire trail from Kvilda to the source of the Vltava is on asphalt. I applauded the decision to go from the other side from Germany 🙂 )
- There are resting places at the spring, a shelter which came in handy when it rained heavily and we waited about 30 minutes before heading back.
K prameni vede od silnice pár metrů dlouhý bezbariérový dřevěný chodníček + několik dřevěných schodů z druhé strany.
- There is a few meters long wheelchair accessible wooden walkway leading to the spring from the road + some wooden steps on the other side.
- We took the same route back, but there was a bit more water on the way.
