My Actifit Report Card: December 22, 2021
The photo was taken in a small estate, far from all cities and villages, called Castel de Lut (Clay Castle). The peculiarity of this castle is that it was built exclusively with the help of the gifts of nature and without the use of tools or materials of modern consumption.
The roof of the house is made of thin wood planks. The building is supported by bulky wooden beams. The towers at the edges of the castle are made of stones and a mixture of sand and clay.
The body of the building and the walls themselves were built from a mixture of hay and clay, which, thanks to drying in the sun, acquired stone strength and resistance.
The hardness of the walls has been personally tested. I myself was pleasantly surprised by the opportunity to climb and walk around this castle. The castle was built not for defensive purposes, but more so that people lived in it.
The creators of this castle were one family, who were so tired of the city that they decided to build their own small fortress and part of the house away from all people.
Over time, this part of the territory became a museum property of Transylvania.
The strategic city of Brasov was located at the foot of the mountain for a reason. Thus, the city controlled thousands of kilometers around and there was no way to get inside the city, without the knowledge of the townspeople themselves. Those who dared to attack the city received a very tough return from the townspeople, who were waiting for the ill-wisher at the very peaks.
