Vitor Silva Onboarding Proposal
Vitor Silva Onboarding Proposal
Who am I?
My name is Vitor da Silva, I'm 24 years old, a skateboarder based in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I've been skating for over 10 years. I started when I was around 12 or 13, inspired by a neighbor who was a professional skateboarder. I bought my first board from him, and since then, I never stopped. Skateboarding became my passion of life and how I see the world.
As a kid, I rode for Hskate, and today I’m part of Barracão Skateshop, where I’m not just a rider, but also involved creatively and actively with Humberto — helping build and strengthen our crew and our local scene. I’m also part of Nogenta Skateboard, a crew from Rio de Janeiro that connects skateboarding with art, politics, and culture, always bringing a raw and honest language straight from the streets.
I’m one of the people behind DIY Macaé, a collective where we build our own spots and skateparks with our own hands. With little to no public support, we took matters into our own hands — and that made my connection with skateboarding even stronger.
Right now, I’m focused on progressing as a skater and also working behind the camera — filming and editing as a videomaker and editor, documenting the scene and telling the real stories from our streets. I’m always looking for ways to support the community, inspire the younger generation, and keep the skateboarding alive in my city.
Some of the highlights of my journey so far include being featured in the Cold 50/50 book — one of Brazil’s most respected skate publications — and now being in the final stages of releasing Dissidente, a full-length video project we've been working on for the past three years with a lot of heart and dedication.
I want to join Gnars because I believe in the power of a web3 community connected through skateboarding and culture. I can contribute content, not only showcasing my own skating but also sharing the daily life and energy of Barracão, Nogenta, and our collective efforts here in Macaé. With the community’s support, we could finally bring to life some social projects we’ve been dreaming of, but haven’t been able to execute due to lack of time and resources. Being part of Gnars means growing together, representing my city in the web3 skate scene, and keeping our street culture alive and thriving.
