Review of Fenerbahçe - Galatasaray Derby [ENG-TUR]

This is my second post on the Sports Talks Community. It is good to have such a community where we can talk about sports events as well as any subject on HIVE community. I will review Fenrbahçe - Galatasaray derby played on Sunday.

Fenerbahçe had not been able to beat Galatasaray at home since 2016 and had lost two home matches in the last two seasons. In addition, their 20-year unbeaten record against Galatasaray was also broken. Fenerbahçe has caught a good trend with İsmail Kartal by collecting 22 points in the last 8 weeks. For this reason, my favourite team was Fenerbahçe in the derby match, and thus Fenerbahçe won the match. Fenerbahçe used their right wing well with Osayi Samuel. The first goal came from the right wing by Osayi Samuel's dribbling the ball, a nice passing and then a good shot from Zajc. The second goal also came from the right wing, but I think Mert Hakan did not consciously do the chip pass to Serdar Dursun.

Fenerbahçe 2016’dan itibaren kendi sahasında Galatasaray’ı yenemiyordu ve son iki sezon kendi evindeki maçlarda da yenilmişti. Ayrıca, Galatasaray’a karşı 20 yıllık yenilmeme rekoru da bozulmuştu. Fenerbahçe son 8 haftada 22 puan toplayarak İsmail Kartal ile büyük bir çıkış yakalamıştı. Bu nedenle, benim favorim Fenerbahçe idi, nitekim kazanan da Fenerbahçe oldu. The players I like the most in Fenerbahçe are Crespo and Kim Min-Jae. When Crespo first came, they compared him to Maldonado, but after he scored in the first derby match, he improved himself and took his place in the team. Crespo catches my eye as a football player who runs everywhere in the field in Fenerbahçe team. Kim Min-Jae, moreover, draws attention with his timely and accurate defenses. He made critical interventions in defense in both derby matches. Thanks to a technical offensive player like İrfan Can, Fenerbahçe were able to do pass game and carry the ball to Galatasaray's penalty area. If Fenerbahçe had had a good striker, this season could have been different for them. It is not clear whether İsmail Kartal will remain at the team as a coach in the end of the season. I think board of Fenerbahçe are very confused on this subject.

Fenerbahçe’de en çok beğendim oyuncular Crespo ve Kim Min-Jae. Crespo ilk geldiğinde ikinci Maldonado benzetmesi yaptılar ama ilk derbi maçında attığı golden sonra kendini geliştirdi ve takımdaki yerini aldı. Crespo, Fenerbahçe’de sahada her yere koşan bir futbolcu olarak gözüme çarpıyor. Kim Min-Jae ise defansta yerinde ve zamanında yaptığı müdahalelerle dikkat çekiyor. İki derbi maçında da defansta kritik müdahaleler yapmıştı. Fenerbahçe, İrfan Can gibi teknik bir hücum oyuncusu sayesinde hem pas oyunu yapabildi hem de topu Galatasaray ceza sahasına taşıyabildi. Fenerbahçe’de iyi bir forvet olsaydı bu sezon onlar için daha farklı olabilirdi. İsmail Kartal’ın sezon sonunda takımda kalıp kalmayacağı belli değil. Bence Fenerbahçe yönetiminin kafası bu konuda çok karışıktır.

Galatasaray, on the other hand, were not well organized for the derby. There was no derby match mood in the team, I think they couldn't get above mediocre football in a season that is already going bad for them. Choosing Domènec Torrent as coach was wrong and I don't think he will be remain at the club in the end of the season. Having being coach at Galatasaray, the away draw with Barcelona was his biggest success. Galatasaray's midfield consists of two similarly qualified defensive players, Taylan and Berkan, and there is not number 10 to carry the ball forward. It is very difficult for Galatasaray to win big games like this and play for the championship in the league. They try to win the match with the personal efforts of Kerem and Babel in forward position. Gomis is not a sufficient striker for me anyway, he is also advanced in age. Galatasaray lost the derby almost without being able to find a position and show its presence on the field, which disappointed their fans.

Galatasaray ise derbide iyi organize olamadı. Takımda hiç derbi maçı havası yoktu, zaten kötü geçen bir sezonda bence futbol olarak vasatın üstüne çıkamadılar. Teknik direktör olarak Domènec Torrent’in tercih edilmesi yanlıştı ve sezon sonunda kalıcı olacağını düşünmüyorum. Geldikten sonra deplasmandaki Barcelona beraberliği en büyük başarısıydı. Galatasaray’ın orta sahası Taylan ve Berkan gibi iki benzer nitelikteli defansif oyunculardan oluşuyor ve topu ileriye taşıyacak bir 10 numara yok. Galatasaray’ın bu şekilde büyük maç kazanması ve ligde şampiyonluğu oynaması çok zor. İlerde Kerem ve Babel’in kişisel çabalarıyla maç kazanmayı deniyorlar. Gomis zaten bana göre yeterli bir forvet değil, yaşı da ilerlemiş. Galatasaray neredeyse pozisyon bulamadan, sahada varlık gösteremeden derbiyi kaybederek taraftarına hayal kırıklığı yarattı.

Unless there happens a big surprise in the Super League, Trabzonspor will announce the championship in two weeks. If the difference in the point table had been a little less, the last weeks of the league would have been very exciting. Trabzonspor, which played good football in a season when the big three were bad, deserved the championship. However, publishers won't allow such a boring league to be played next season.

Süper Lig’te büyük bir süpriz olmazsa Trabzonspor iki hafta sonra şampiyonluğunu ilan edecek. Puan farkı biraz daha az olsaydı ligin son haftaları çok heyecanlı geçecekti. Üç büyüklerin kötü olduğu bir sezonda iyi futbol oynayan Trabzonspor şampiyonluğu hak etmiştir. Ama gelecek sezon yayıncı kuruluş böyle zevksiz bir lig oynanmasına izin vermez.
