The nine-spotted moth
I photographed these nine-spotted moth in Eastern Rhodopes.
The nine-spotted moth is also known as yellow belted burnet (Amata phegea, formerly Syntomis phegea).
It is a moth in the family Erebidae ("tiger moths").
Wings of the nine-spotted moth are greenish black or blueish black. They have white spots with metallic sheen.
Their body is quite long. Males are smaller than females. They have thicker antennae.
The black thread-like antennae have white tips.
I have also met nine-spotted moth in Strandzha mountain.

Not a bad looking moth :) The yellow accents are really nice.
They are very charming perched on the white flowers 🙂
