Nigeria Professional Football League enters week two on November 10th across eight venues while two matches have been postpone due to the forth coming African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Squire of Benin, the match is slated for Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom, same venue that has two Nigeria Professional Football League teams using the venue. The organizer of the league had deem it necessary to postpone the two matches so as to maintained a very good condition of the pitch when the Super Eagles host the Benin Republic National team.
There are eight high profile matches slated for Sunday 10th November across venues. In some of the matches, Adamawa united will host Enugu Rangers, Adamawa United is a new team in the Nigeria Professional Football League, the just gained promotion into the league from the country division one, playing Enugu Rangers at this point of the league may be too much for the boys from Adamawa considering the fact that Enugu Rangers have been engaged in the continent and as such are in better shape than their host come sunday. While it will be wrong to rule out Adamawa United, one can as well say that this match will favour Enugu Rangers more considering their experience at this level of the league.
In what might be tag the orient-er derby is the match between Rivers United and Heartland of Owerri, this two teams knows each others very well and with less down 200 kilometer distance in between these two club side, the history will definitely repeat itself. In the recent past, fans of both clubs have always look forward to this encounter as the rivalry dated back to decades and prides is as stake here. Rivers United had a vital draw in the first match of the season while Heartland lost at home to MFM of Lagos in the opening day fixture. The new coach of the Owerri based club will not want to lose league game back to back especial to a Rivers United team that has few of the former players of Heartland in their ranks now. My prediction for this game is 2-1 in favour of Rivers United.
The northern derby will feature Nasarwa United versus Wikki Tourist of Bauchi. Lafia the state capital of Nasarawa will agog as their darling team will square it up with Wikki Tourist in first league match at home, this encounter always produce lots of goals and this one would not be an exception at all. With a very youthful side in the ranks of the Nasarawa United this match may as well ended in a draw. My prediction is 1-1.
